I’m only providing basic specifications, mainly because I’m not necessarily posting this bug to get it fixed—I’m mostly posting it to ask the developers to please, please, PLEASE find a way to implement an “aging up and down” cheat. This only happened after my Zoi had a child, and even though I have aging disabled for both my household and non-played households, both of my Zois aged from young adult to adult and almost senior overnight.
I don’t want to compare your game to The Sims like so many others, but I kind of have to. Being able to change age at will helps with so many issues. Especially with a game like this, you can’t really go backward much once something happens.
That’s strange. I think this is a bug. Disabling aging has always worked as intended in my game. Never had a Zoi age up when they weren’t supposed to, and I play with aging off majority of the time.
Could it be possible the Zois were on “1 day until age up,” then slept and it triggered the aging because of that? Zois don’t age up until they sleep and wake up on their birthday.
I also had aging disabled in the settings but after the October update, many of the settings I changed were set back, also the no-aging setting. So, just to be sure, you might want to check them again 
hey thanks for responding! you know, its crazy, cause after the update i noticed my zoi was getting crows feet. and i was like ??? okay whats going on here… oh, my zoi aged up to an adult? tf… my settings got reset! so yes, lol since that major update i have updated all my settings (even had to turn off the videos that get played upon startup lol). what happened, was my zoi family had a baby, and ever since the baby got born it aged both of my zois up 
so im over here like, sigh yes the bugs do suck. but it is a new game in early access, and i truly like the game, so im giving it the benefit of the doubt here. they seriously just need to make a way for us to cheat aging our families up and down.

Right now, I’ve already gone into the options and set aging to “disabled,” since my settings were reset after the latest update. However, when I play and it reaches midnight the next day, my character still ages up automatically.
I think I’ve recently read that this workaround is still possible:

Details:
Tonight, after setting up all the houses, I finally played with my historical save file, which I’ve been playing since the beginning.
In the game it was the last day of the year.
A Zoi in the family I was playing changed age despite the stopAging cheat being active.
I went to another one of my families and, even though aging was disabled for non-played families, everyone experienced an age change, but a toddler girl even jumped straight to adolescent

hey! so far, I haven’t necessarily found a solution yet. I’ve been kind of waiting on the creators and developers to make a way in game to use it, or even make a cheat code. so whenever the 2026 roadmap came out on like New Year’s, it said something about making it possible to age your Zoi’s when you wanted to, but they said that the update will probably be more towards the end of the year. so until I see something about them actually changing it I’m gonna say no for now

Hi @mialuce66, could you please send us your save file where your Zoi aged up despite the stopAging cheat? Could you also let us know if you have any mods installed? If so, could you share the list of mods you’re currently using? (Edit: I’ve just noticed that you checked Mods removed in your original post.)

I’ve experienced the same sudden birthday issue an all 3 of my fully updated save files (Dowon, Bliss Bay & Cahaya). StopAging had always been applied and never failed to work until the March 26 update. I’ll upload all three files and add the names of the aged-up Zois, so you can check them out easier.

I’m posting the save file I opened when I started playing and also the one I made right after finishing the session.
I was playing with the Rousseau family and Zoi, who aged up right after midnight, is now Hélène. Then I checked my other families and all the characters who were middle-aged have aged up, along with several other children and teenagers.
I had mods installed but disabled them before the update, here’s the list
