Realistic Personal Hygiene in inZOI

1. Realistic Personal Hygiene in inZOI

Each NPC and player would have detailed routines that impact appearance, mood, and health:

Bathing & Hair

  • Choose between a quick shower (washing only the body) or a full shower (body + hair).
  • Shampoo, conditioner, and hair treatments can be purchased in stores.
  • Drying hair:
    • Natural air-drying (takes longer, less styled).
    • Hair dryer (purchased in-store → faster and better-looking results).
  • If you don’t wash for several days → hair and body become dirty → affects social interactions and mood.

Skincare / Skin

  • Daily skincare routine: cleanse, tone, moisturize, sunscreen.
  • Different products give different results:
    • Basic lotion → keeps skin healthy.
    • Premium serum / cream → improves appearance, reduces tiredness, acne, and wrinkles.
  • Ignoring the routine → acne, dry skin, and irritation appear, affecting visuals and social life.

Oral Hygiene

  • Brushing teeth, flossing, and using mouthwash.
  • Premium products or dental treatments can be purchased → better smile, prevents bad breath.

Clothing & Scent

  • Clothes accumulate dirt and odor if worn for too long.
  • Soap, detergent, or automatic laundry services can be purchased → clean clothes with a pleasant scent.

2. Realistic Shopping System

To access specific products, the player must:

  • Go to a physical store or shop online within the game.
  • Products range from basic to luxury, affecting the results:
    • Basic shampoo → cleans hair.
    • Premium shampoo → cleans + adds shine + stylish animation.
    • Simple hair dryer → dries hair, no styling.
    • High-end hair dryer → dries faster + styled hair + extra animation.

This creates a realistic maintenance loop, just like real life: you need to go shopping, spend money, and plan your routine.

3. Impact on Gameplay

  • Appearance, mood, social interactions, and health all depend on hygiene and skincare.
  • NPCs also follow these routines, making the world feel alive: some may “notice” if you’re dirty, while others may recommend products or give care tips.
  • Option to do everything manually or speed things up with store-bought products → lifestyle freedom

:lotion_bottle: Consumable Products in inZOI

Nothing is infinite — everything is realistic :eyes:

  • Shampoo, conditioner, cream, soap, toothpaste → run out with use
  • Sunscreen also runs out and needs to be reapplied during the day
  • Hair dryers don’t run out, but they can:
    • Consume energy
    • Break over time
    • Require maintenance or replacement

When a product runs out:

  • The Zoi tries to use it → can’t
  • A notification appears, like: “Shampoo has run out”
  • You need to buy a new one at a physical store or online

:woman_getting_massage: Manual Application on the Zoi’s Body

Everything is applied directly to the body for full immersion:

  • Apply moisturizer to arms, legs, and face
  • Apply sunscreen before going out in the sun
  • Skincare is done in front of the mirror, with realistic animations
  • Each body part may need different care

If you don’t apply it:

  • Skin becomes dry
  • Sunburn can occur
  • Appearance worsens
  • Mood decreases

:sun: Sunscreen With Real Impact

Very real-life vibes:

  • Going out in the sun without sunscreen → sunburn, red skin
  • Sunscreen has limited duration → needs reapplication
  • Premium sunscreen lasts longer and protects better

:shopping_cart: Realistic Routine Loop

Basically:

  • Use the products
  • They run out
  • You need to buy more
  • Plan your expenses
  • Choose between basic or premium

This makes the game:

  • More immersive
  • More strategic
  • More mature and realistic
  • Feel like “real life,” not an automatic game

:handbag: Bag / Backpack System in inZOI

Each Zoi can have a personal bag, backpack, or tote, and you decide what goes inside:

The bag can include:

  • :mobile_phone: Phone
  • :lipstick: Makeup / lip balm
  • :lotion_bottle: Sunscreen / cream
  • :sunglasses: Sunglasses
  • :key: Keys
  • :open_book: Book
  • :cup_with_straw: Drink
  • :bikini: Beachwear / bikini
  • :credit_card: Wallet
  • :sparkles: Mini skincare items

Nothing is fixed. You choose everything.

:backpack: Real Impact of What You Carry

What’s inside the bag affects gameplay:

  • Bring sunscreen → reapply it at the beach :sun:
  • Bring makeup → touch up while outside :lipstick:
  • Bring a book → read in the park or on a towel :open_book:
  • Bring nothing → you’re limited :grimacing:

If you forget something at home… that’s it — you’ll need to go back or buy it.

:shopping_bags: Bag Sizes & Styles

  • Small bag → limited space
  • Tote / large bag → fits almost everything
  • Backpack → ideal for work, school, travel

Style + function:

  • Fashion bag :black_heart:
  • Beach bag :ocean:
  • Practical backpack :backpack:

:brain: NPCs Also Use Bags

NPCs can also:

  • Take items out of their bags
  • Offer something they’re carrying
  • Ask to borrow items
  • Be missing items because they forgot them

This makes the world feel alive and organic, not robotic.

:sparkles: Extra Details (the classy touch)

  • Opening the bag → animation
  • Items visible depending on context
  • Bag gets heavier when full
  • Items can be lost if the bag is messy

The bag becomes an extension of the Zoi’s life, not just a decorative accessory.
