John Cho just passed away, I had his daughter say her last goodbyes by using the Nyx Totem. However, just as she’s able to see him, he was in that moment rummaging through their family refrigerator. He took out a box of Chinese fried noodles, and happily ate them in front of her. It felt rude I won’t lie, as she ever-so-patiently waited for him to acknowledge her presence. The thought crossed my mind that this may be a bug, considering John Cho is dead and would in theory have no reason to hunger anymore… but again this game was curated to be silly and goofy in many ways. It did get a giggle out of me. Anyhow, just figured I would still report on this, just in case.

Unfortunately, it’s not a bug. Ghosts behave just like a normal NPC stuck in your home, except they can’t initiate a conversation and will write a letter once a day or so. Otherwise, yeah, far as I can tell, they’ll eat, do the dishes, wash their hands, vacuum the floor in your room at 2 AM, run on the treadmill, sing badly into the mike, grab a cuppa coffee, cook a big serving of fried shrimp, etc.

And as far as I can tell, the exorcist just makes them visible. It doesn’t make them immediately want to talk to you or anything.

I swear, I couldn’t use the treadmill or the bathtub in my Zois home for what felt like an eternity with a ghost being around. Kind of hilarious but I don’t want that to happen every other week.

I like that ghosts do this. It’s fun  But I don’t keep them in the house for a long time

How do you get rid of one overstaying her welcome, then? Honest question.

Because literally the only solution I found for one of them was to reload a hard save from before she died, edit town, and pawn her off to another family.

(And I mean, I wouldn’t have even minded her living her old posthumous years with her kids – ahem, she kept the house clean and occasionally cooked group servings – but she kept freezing them in place via the “Worried” effect.)
