The command to sing a song into the microphone in homework does not count as completed, despite performing the full action.

Yes, it also happened with my pre-adolescent daughter. I bought the microphone, she sang, but it wasn’t being counted in the homework.

Unfortunately, this bug has been around for quite some time, since November if I remember correctly. Thanks for reporting it though. The dev team mentioned it in the known issues several times:

Longer than that. they fixed it early in the 0.3.0 cycle, then reintroduced it somewhere in the 0.4.0 cycle. Mindblown how long it takes to fix it, I hope they nail it soon, but it’s not a critical issue, you don’t really lose much academic performance if you only miss that one. And thankfully schooling means nothing in the game… yet.

In my case it wasn’t even called “Prepare Original Song”, IIRC. And the tooltip just said I should sing a song at the mike. But yeah, it failed.
