Overview: I would love to see more random and recurring city events that make the world feel alive, social, and constantly changing. While I know grocery stores are planned for the game, I think adding recurring festivals, pop-up markets, and temporary events would greatly improve immersion, social interaction, and economic gameplay.
Farmers Markets (Recurring Pop-Ups): It would be great to have farmers markets that appear on specific days or times each week. These could include food stalls, produce vendors, baked goods, flowers, and handmade items. Farmers markets would be a natural social space where Zois casually meet, browse, eat, and talk, making it easier to form friendships organically.
Flea Markets & Secondhand Goods: Flea markets could offer rotating, randomized items such as furniture, décor, clothing, collectibles, and rare finds. This would add excitement and replay value, since each market could feel different. Prices and item quality could vary, encouraging browsing and repeat visits.
Sell Your Own Items or Furniture: It would be amazing to have booths where players can sell their own crafted items, furniture, or unwanted household goods. This could support creative playstyles, side hustles, and storytelling, such as artists, furniture makers, resellers, or minimalist Zois downsizing their homes.
Dumpster Diving & Alleyway Finds: Alleyways could include dumpsters where Zois can search for items or food. Found items could be cleaned, repaired, used, or sold. This would add realism, support alternative lifestyles, and create interesting economic paths for struggling or eco-focused Zois.
Recurring & Seasonal Festivals: The city could host random or seasonal festivals such as school fundraisers, eco festivals, neighborhood fairs, charity events, food festivals, or cultural celebrations. These events could rotate throughout the year, encouraging players to explore the city and participate in community life.
Social & Gameplay Benefits: These events would create natural gathering points, make it easier to meet people and form friendships, support different income paths, and give players reasons to leave their homes regularly. They would also help the city feel reactive, lively, and unpredictable rather than static.
Community Ideas Welcome: Please leave comments if you have additional festival or market ideas you’d love to see added to the game.
