As someone who loves large families, this has been bugging me for a very long time now.
So if your household is bigger than 8, and/or split between multiple addresses in town, only the members of your direct household are flagged as family.
It would be nice that even if daughters/sons move out of the main household, they would still show up in the “Family” category.
In the example below I captured the split (Etsuko Mikomi in the bottom right is one of my daughters that moved away, yet no longer in the family category).
Her older brother and sisters also are on their own at another address. Need quite a bit of scrolling to find them all.
Now Ideally later, any met grandkids should show as well…
It’s minor, but I really want all of my large families to be grouped together in the Relationship menu.
Thank you !

That’d be really a great addition. I’ve just recently had a marriage and had to scroll through my contacts several times to find every family member I wanted to invite.

Agreed!
Along with “Family”, we need an additional relation group in the game, such as “Relatives”.
Loving and caring relationships between family members and relatives is currently being ignored in the game. Adding “Relatives” relationships (beyond family) will open up the game play for generations both vertical and horizontal .
We can for example,
- gift and loan items to relatives,
- have extended family gatherings (families of siblings, cousins),
- celebrate festivals together (families and relatives),
- children cousins visit each other and play together,
- call over relatives to babysit or drop off children at the relatives when parents go to work,
- grandparents and grandchildren (from related families in different residences) meet occasionally and play together (in houses and in parks),
- build multi-family (relatives) residences,
- open business chains with relatives as management
This will add and increase the positivity and happiness in the game. As opposed to the recent focus on crime, prison, frustrations, break-ups, divorces, driving accidents and what not.

@Samuriko I don’t agree with you. Separation contacts into groups is very necessary.
If there is no separation between “Family” and “Friends” in contacts, there will be even more confusion and inconvenience.
For now the best suggestion was proposed by @DivineManifest . We need new contacts category “Relative” or something like that

uh? there will still be.
It’s just that family members will all be bunched together in the family section even if in another household because you moved them out…
Thats the only change this would make

OK. Now I understand what you mean. You want large families not to split up. But the separation of family and friends still will keep. I think, if only game developers will not increase the number of members of every family, it would be more logical to just add another category - “Relatives”

It’s too complicated. It’s better to just add tabs like “roommates,” “family,” “friends,” “lovers”, like in The Sims
