A DLC Focused on Luxury

I would absolutely love to see this!!

Also, I know this isn’t entirely related but animations like this could tie into the new money (influencer/celebrity) luxury lifestyle with animations do recording get ready with me, vlogs, gaming, etc! TikTok - Make Your Day

I like this idea of not paying off loans can cause consequences including injuries! Especially for the underground thugs and lords running money operations. It’d be so cool if your character could get involved with black market gangs or get in gambling debts and influence the bigger world.

This gave me inspiration for another NPC family. A family that is “suspected” to be mobsters. There’s no proof that they are mobsters but they are super sketchy. As per usual they have major rivalries with some of the other families in the city.

Then it would be interesting to have a household full of scammers. They sell fake luxury items and steal coins from water fountains. They can text your Zoi about a get rich quick scheme or ask your Zoi for a “loan”. Most NPC households can not like them.

I’d like to see socialite being a way to make money for attending events but also to build up a reputation to get fans to follow them on social media.

It would also be really cool if we had a way to buy and own multiple vacation homes in other worlds and in residential worlds.

Hire drivers to take characters anywhere and for the duration for specific days of the week or indefinitely, and then select the car type: town car, Rolls Royce, or Limousine.

Being able to buy private jets planes.

Inheritances of a trust or from family be it from parents or grandparents.

Rich families wanting or expressing you to marry other rich partners, and could be scoffed at if not.

Having luxury hotels regular characters wouldn’t be able to afford.

Introduce luxury town homes, studios/lofts, and mansions we buy/rent/or build.

Hire butlers, personal chefs, live in nannies.

High fashion designer boutiques and clothing stores.

I’d like to see this luxury DLC (if it were to be made) it effects the world on larger scale than just things that can be bought. But it can effect the NPCs behavior, their desires for life or short term desires of the every day, new routines they might add to their daily life, characters being able to influence each other, maybe there could be a cultural gameplay mechanic that can be introduced we can select for our characters to be attracted to.

Hmm, you got me thinking, maybe they should add some kind of tag or badge system for reputation and you can achieve them by hitting certain milestones.

This would make gameplay SUPER rewarding and give us something to work towards!

Reputation Tag System:

Having more than three generations of rich zois gives all the descendants of the family tree with a certain amount of wealth the “Old Money” tag. This can be lost if they lose their fortune.

Making a huge amount of wealth within one lifetime can give you the “New Money” tag. This could be an easier way to classify zois and create conflict between these two reputation groups.

I also think you should have outliers, for example a young old money girl befriends a new money girl because she happens to not give a crap about her families fortune (this could be down to her personal traits and values).

Dating a series of rich older men could give you the gold digger tag or you could choose your own reputation tag in CAZ to be gold digger.

It would be awesome if the reputation tags impacted your zois personality and the autonomous actions they decide to take on a daily basis.

There could also be multiple reputation tags a zoi can acquire throughout their lifetime that may change overtime based on their behaviour.

Other zois react differently to the zoi based on their reputation too! They may be in awe of an old or new money zoi, or fearful of a mobster and their descendants (or love them, based on their own background and reputation tags).

Other reputation tag ideas:

Scammer: participated in x amount of scams

Business Magnate: own x amount of businesses

Real Estate Magnate: own x amount of properties

Gold Finder: Date 5 affluent people

Gold Digger: Date 10 new/old money zois

Gold Miner: Marry and divorce a new/old money or millionaire zoi and successfully take half their wealth

Millionaire: self explanatory

Networker: Host x amount of parties at x budget or invite x amount of affluent people

Socialite: Attend x amount of networking/wealthy parties

Affluent: Have 500k+ in household funds

Best Dressed: Buy outfits at expensive boutiques and wear them to x amount of events

Crimelord: make x amount through criminal activity

Housewife/househusband: married with kids but no job and partner works

Irresistible: A model at a certain level of career or fame

Hustler: Make x amount of money outside of a regular job

Also some rare reputation tags could be earned only through long term gameplay:

Legend: lost old money fortune and made it back

Descendant of a mobster/king pin

Son/Daughter of a Gold Digger

Hope this wasn’t too long, just some ideas

Monaco sounds cool, but if they did a luxury themed DLC, I’d rather it come with Dubai

But for me personally, I’m not really that interested in luxury in my play, I was that way on the Sims too. To me, so much in the game is already luxurious… I use luxury items if it fits best for some theme, but otherwise don’t unless I manage my zoi/sim manages to become wealthy, then it is fun as rewards for their hard work. But luxury just feels fake and pompous and lifeless to me, so I’m less interested in that than the things that most people of the world experience and can do or have or have access to.

i’ve heard many like to fantasize about wealth in their games, though, so I understand, I just don’t fantasize about typical luxury in my own life even irl, if I was wealthy yeah I’d want a fancy car and to live in an underground cave house or a castle, but outside of that woulld use my money to get weapons and armor, farm unique and magickal herbs and plants and animals, and visit places all over the world, and start up companies that would aid the world through cool products and storylines. So in games, I’m more interested in experiencing new places and cultures (fantasy of exploring the world), farming, magick, classical armor from around the world, weapons even if decoration, cool locations to live in even if they are huts but also castles and underground homes, you probably get my drift.

That’s the beauty of a DLC, you don’t have to get it if you don’t like to play that way. Just like I would never add armour, magic, supernatural or occult to my gameplay.

Yeah, I wasn’t saying anything for you guys, just for the Krafton employees. I didn’t read all the comments, just the OP, and then just stated so I coulld be another tally for Krafton to see “wants?/notwants?” for prioritizing things. I wouldn’t be mad that a pack like this came out, and am not even saying I don’t want it to. I’m letting Krafton know I don’t personally have any excitement for it. Maybe I’m the only one but I doubt that, maybe Im a minority and that’’s just fine, that’s the point here, to see what ideas have majority approval, and they can’t know that if everyone against an idea doesn’t say they are.
But again, I would probably still buy it because it still would be useful and probably come with more than just luxury furniture, but I might wait to buy it whereas something else I might prioritize when budgeting more. And again, I don’t think my opinion matters much other than being a tally for them to see how many want this and how many dont or dont care.
I hope you understand I wasn’t trying to bring anyone down or say that a DLC like this shouldn’t happen. I was just giving info for whether I would personally be excited for it or not, knowing that if no one else says they also are not excited for this, then it will likely become prioritized by Krafton to come out with one like this, and that is fine if that happens and I respect it.

I am not really interested in luxury DLC for the luxury itself, but all this sounds awesome and would make me want to buy it more.

If a luxurypack came with a mafia or things like this and like what you and a couple others have said in this thread, I would definitely be interested in buying it. Im not interested in a pack that focuses on luxury, but if it came with other interesting things like this, that would elevate my interest dramatically.

(Note: unless I am specifically replying as part of a conversation to someone, I’m always just trying to supply data to help the employees of Krafton, not trying to argue with any players or say I don’t want a DLC made, but rather just giving data)

In this context, the success probability of any given DLC is extremely important. Of course, we can’t forecast with 100% certainty, but we do have some metrics.

This proposal reads like a genre classic (we’ve never come closer to the core), it echoes the architecture of countless other successful games.

I’ve been told many times that Zois farmed massive sums, and the question was always what to do with them. It’s a real, systemic issue, not just theoretical. You could say, “Ok, Bali…”, but it doesn’t look like the pinnacle.

We used to play a lot of Sims 2/3 with the guys, and they were always interested in climbing status and income (that’s why I specifically mentioned boys and micromanagement). If the economy in a game like this is broken (no room to grow, nothing to risk, no empire to build), you can assume you’ve already lost a huge part of your audience. It’s one of the ways people assert themselves through gameplay, a closure of a basic human need.

Yes, there are proposals around farmland, and mine around music/URBZ (I also “played through” those games via reputation, but it didn’t take off here unlike Discord — it’s ok). If you want longplay and audience retention, this is the ideal solution. I’d strongly recommend Krafton/inZOI studio/Mr.Kjun at least consult with the author of the idea.

I can see where you’re coming from. Everyone has their own play style and different wants from a life sim game. I think what would help would be to see into my thought process for the reason this DLC idea.

Like everyone else, when coming up with a DLC idea I consider what’s already in the game and what can be improved. Another thing I considered was that not only if an idea would be entertaining to me but to other players as well.

I noticed allot of people like to play rags to riches gameplay. Cahaya has the rags with it’s tin roofs and sweat of the earth fishing and farming but we have yet to have anything that truly feels like the riches.

Funnily enough, I was considering Dubai for my luxury theme but an interesting quote came to mind, “Money talks but wealth whispers.” If you have money, you show it. If you have wealth, you live it. The reason why I chose Monaco over Dubai was I believe that Monaco looks more visually distinct. What I noticed currently with Inzoi is that each map looks very unique from one another. Dubai does look more flashy but Monaco feels more refined.

Once I had the theme and the location down for this DLC this is where I’m able to let my imagination run wild. Then I put in more research about region and how it can implemented into gameplay and storytelling opportunities.

I was considering what would be the “showpiece” of the map. For Bliss Bay that’s the Bliss Bay Amusement Park, in Down it’s the Ullim Temple, with Cahaya it’s the Miatara Temple. What I want for this Monaco inspired map would a casino inspired by the Monte Carlo that is cat themed. With a casino it would add gambling gameplay with slot machines, roulette, craps, card games, etc.

The reason why I went with cat theming for the casino is because of overall cat theming of Inzoi itself. My inspiration was the maneki-neko aka beckoning cat. It’s a cat statue that is supposed to give good financial fortune that is places in front of businesses and casinos. Also, I’ve personally seen a few slot machines and playing cards with cats.

This is only a small fraction of the ideas that I’ve come up with.

Hopefully this small glimpse into my thought process helps you understand why I’ve come up with the ideas that I presented so far.

I do really like a lot of your ideas going along with it, I think I was not understanding at first. I still would personally want Dubai over Monaco (that’s funny that you had considered it already haha), but I can see where the appeal of Monaco is and why probably more people would like it.

Another motivator to me for the location is how rare it is to see the Middle East in games, and I felt like the luxury theme would be perfect to be set in Dubai, offering an opportunity for a location in the Middle East to be added to the game without the location being the focus of it

However, all of your ideas I’ve seen for Monaco sound cool, and I love the idea for the cat-themed casino, it works perfectly for InZoi

Oh my God, I love cat cards!!!
As for the setting, I have practically no preference, they’re both beautiful!
Maybe a little more Dubai, because I’ve never been there and probably never will :).

I think either Dubai or Monaco could work in a luxury dlc context, but personally I prefer the idea of Monaco. I think it has more of an “old money” vibe, and also is perhaps a bit more distinctive architecturally.

All the ideas on this thread are amazing - I think there are so many that we are in danger of creating an entirely new game, but just some of the suggested elements would provide a good gameplay loop and a sense of progression (in a wealth sense at least).

If it were just down to popularity on the wishlist, I think this dlc idea has it!

A stereotype of the wealthy is getting cosmetic surgery. It should be straight forward to implement. There can be a hospital or a clinic for your Zoi to go to. It could be a rabbit hole or a fully functional hospital. Once you decide to get a surgery it just opens up into CAZ to edit your Zoi’s face and body.

Plastic surgeon could even be it’s own active career. It would be neat to be able to go in and edit a NPC’s feature without having to use cheats.

Another aspect of cosmetic surgery would be face lifts. As most of you have noticed, when your Zoi ages they get more and more wrinkles on their face. A interesting way to implement a face iiiiiilife state. For example adult to young adult, middle aged to adult and so in. That way a Zoi can look younger but not looking too young.

To add on, it would be cool to enter the CAZ setting when you select a higher price for a custom facial remodeling. Cheaper options include simple nose jobs, botox, etc, jaw remodeling, and more, for individual remodeling which could also be botched. After plastic surgeries we could see facial swelling and bandages for realism too!

A botched cosmetic procedure would be funny and frustrating depending on the playthrough. The results can be terrifying.

Speaking of getting money for plastic surgery it reminded of the Kanye song Gold Digger.

She was spose to buy ya shorty TYCO with ya money
She went to the doctor got lypo with ya money
She walking around looking like Micheal with ya money

One thing I always wanted in the Sims and hope Inzoi would implement is child support. If your female Zoi has a baby with a Zoi that doesn’t live into the same household they should pay child support. It can make for an interesting storyline for a Zoi who makes most of her money from her baby daddies.

Another shady way to make money is inheritance. This is good for generational gameplay. It can give you the old money trait. You should be able to make a will and decide what percentage much each person gets. Also you should be able to decide to give funds to friends and business relations not just your family. Or there can be a really small chance your Zoi can inherit funds from a great aunt they never knew.

A cool thing would be able to leave an”legacy” after your Zoi passed away. This can be one of the goals for a famous Zoi. For example, creating a charity that even if your don’t play as the original family, would still be in the game generations after. Maybe, you can have a chance if you go down the real estate track, have a building named after you, even if it’s a shell building. Or the very least have a statue or bust of your Zoi generated in a park. This is another way for the city to feel alive with history.
