Steps to Reproduce: It happens randomly when I upload something. I always use the same tags, except for the zoi’s name, and yet it only happens from time to time.
This morning I tried to upload a zoi I made (A Chinese actor) and the algorythm that analyzes Canvas uploads somehow deemed it as “Blocked”; reason given: “Other violations”. It was just a normal guy, no mods nor cc used when making him, wearing streetwear, completely covered up from head to toe. Description was “Reknown actor and dancer Wang Yibo”. The hashtags were his name in several languagues, the word “actor” in several languages as well and then “chinese”, “zoipreset”, “nomods”, “nocc”, “malezoi”.
The zoi was released a few minutes later, but this keeps happening to me time and time again, with very random zois, all of them using similar descriptions and tags as the ones I wrote above. There is absolutely nothing I can think of in the zoi or the description or tags that can grant getting flagged as blocked or innapropriate, not even by Scunthorpe problem standards. I’ve noticed Canvas is full of weird sexualized pictures so I don’t know what I keep doing wrong for mine to get flagged
Can we get the algorythm that analyzes and flags canvas uploads revised? It would be great if at least we as creators get a detailed description of what was “wrong” with our upload to avoid it next time.
Disclaimer: all my zois are fully clothed, and pictures are not suggestive in the slightest. Below some examples of zois I had flagged before releasing them in case it helps!
As always, thank you for your hard work guys. This game is amazing

My guesses from each of these would be the use of the words Wang, Pentagon, and Chestnut.
“Wang” (although a name) is also slang for… something else that is inappropriate.
“Pentagon” is the name of a shape, obviously, but maybe it’s flagged because of the government building, so it’s seen as political?
And well… “nut” in Chestnut. Maybe even “Chest” too. Or the combination of both those words being in the upload.
That’s just my guesses, though. Try removing those words from their names. Does it work?

Another reason could be that these modeled faces are those of real life persons. This could be a privacy issue. I know that several celebrities have been modeled, and many more will always be in future. But this could be a reason - the created zoi name and description mentions they are (modeled off) real life people.

I don’t think this is it. People have been creating irl people in Zoi since the beginning, whether of themselves, people they know, or celebrities. Canvas is full of these creations, with their names, and none of them have gotten moderated for that reason.

It seems that some of the violations are random. Considering the amount of adult content on canvas that doesn’t get blocked despite reporting, I don’t think they’re paying too much attention.
I’ve had a zoi preset removed before due to nudity. There was no nudity. I’d only used my own texture, nothing else. It was quickly reinstated when I appealed.
In terms of looking like a famous person, there are loads of look-a-likes on canvas, I seem to have Billie Eilish (mis-spelt, I know) wandering around Cahaya.

Thank you! I hadn’t considered those could be the problem but maybe you are right? The zois were reinstated already sometime after being flagged, so no problem there. But I hope we can get better, more specific messages for creators so that we know what the issue is

@DivineManifest As @LittleBrownBiscuit and @LazyTaco already metioned I don’t think the problem is making famous people. I’ve been doing so since the beginning with no problem, and it’s something that is indeed popular in any game where there is a character creator haha. I think what @LazyTaco said might be the issue here.

Yeah, it seems like certain posts get flagged as a safety measure and then are reinstated after being inspected/cleared. It would be nice if those reports would at least say which word was flagged when it involves words. Never understood why that’s not a thing. It’s the same way in Sims 4.

Hi, @itsmechiie7
As mentioned in our notice on the auto-moderation system, all Canvas uploads are checked automatically to see if they follow our guidelines. Sometimes, the system can make mistakes and flag legitimate posts as “sensitive” or even temporarily blocking them. We are sincerely sorry for the trouble this has caused you.
If you wish for a faster review or still have blocked posts, please reach out to us via our Support Page. We’ll take a closer look and help sort it out as soon as we can.
Thanks for your understanding and for continuing to share your awesome creations with us!
