Details: every single time i try to enter {edit appearance or edit outfits in the mirror } it instanlty crashes my whole game to my desk top .everysingle time
Could you please specify if you have any mods, or if you play on PC or a laptop? What are your specs? That information is in the formulary because it is important and help us and the moderators to understand your issue.
As to what it could be, I’ve had an issue with crashing related to outdated caz mods before, so I’m thinking it could be that.
have you tried setting in options the display settings to something lower (like medium) before attempting to enter create a zoi?
Also please edit your post and fill in the answer to the questions. They are there for a reason to enable people to better help you resolve your issue.
Hello I am experiencing same issue. I am also using gaming laptop. In my case, when I try to use Customzoi [ID], it crashes the game. I cannot make any edits to my zoi currently.
I’m also experiencing the same issue. Everything works fine until there is ANY attempt to alter a zois’ appearance in any way. Which is ultimately denying me the ability to save my zoi and put them in a different world.
Hi everyone (@here), We’re currently reviewing the reports you sent.
Before that, it’s possible there might be an issue with the game files, so could you please try running a Verify integrity of game files check on Steam?
Please refer to the instructions below for details.
Update*: currently I have moved my pc to another location and connected it to another display. So either that fixed something or the ui crashes because I use nvidia surround, for a triple monitor display. So I could also say if anyone’s using a multi monitor set up try only using one. But as of now it’s fixed.

Error Message: No error before crash, every time
Details: Every single time I attempt to access Create A Zoi from inside the game, the game crashes. This happens regardless of the method of access (editing appearance in mirror, editing family from city edit families page, using cheat with zoi ID from in game), with every zoi, in different save files.
I have tried everything I can find info on this for: updated OS and drivers, verified game files repeatedly through Steam, adjusted graphics to lowest settings, disabled mods, switched from windowed fullscreen display, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, tried starting new games but problem persists…
Loading screen usually starts up then fails after a few moments, crashes back to a frozen game, then crashes to the desktop within seconds.
ONE time since the issue began, CAZ loaded in game right after verifying Steam files but it has not worked since.
This was not an issue when I began playing, it started randomly and hasn’t stopped. No other issues, crashing or otherwise.
My system does not generate a crash save file. I tried to attach a zipped version of my regular save file but site said it wasn’t compatible.
I am not sure what to do to resolve this issue. I am not very computer literate.
Hi there! Besides the mods that you wrote down, do you have caz cc? Like outfits, top, bottoms… Something similar happened to me after the first modkit update and I found out it was one outfit that hadn’t been updated by the cc creator yet.
Thanks so much for your response! I appreciate your time and your help. This is what I tried based on your advice:
I started a new game and did a meticulous sweep of CAZ for any cc or canvas items, deleted it all. When the game loaded in, I tried to edit appearance with a mirror and the same crash happened.
I thought, maybe other in-game cc from canvas? So I started another new game, went in and deleted all my saved properties and 3D printed object downloads from the build menu. Went back into the game, saved, then selected to edit appearance in the mirror – and this time, it worked!
So I went back to lobby and tried to load into my old save, tried to edit appearance, it crashed.
I started it up and started a new game again, saved when it loaded in, went in and verified that all cc was deleted, went to edit appearance in mirror – and another crash.
I am currently verifying the game files once more through Steam then I will test another new game. I’m not sure if this is the fix or not! It certainly seemed to help but I am still experiencing the crashing issue.
I verified the files through steam then started a new game. I was able to use the edit appearance from the mirror multiple times and it seemed to be working, but after playing for a while, adding a zoi from the city to the family, then attempting to edit appearance with the mirror again, I got the usual crash.
Thank you very much for your time and help! I navigated to each folder you specified but I am having a little trouble finding the exact correct files to delete. In Paks, I didn’t find a mod folder. In docs/inzoi, saved->mods isn’t an available pathway – I see Mods, ModSave, and SaveGames. In appdata/local/inzoi, the only folder there is labeled user_data, which contains ‘logs’ and ‘88849.’ Would you be able to instruct me which folders are correct to access and which files to delete to follow your suggestion? I have attached screenshots of the file locations in my system. All good if not – just thought I’d ask if you may be more familiar with this sort of thing than I am! Thanks again.
I’ll try my best and maybe some of the others here have advice too (?)
Can you post the full path to the folder you posted below?
What comes after BlueClient > Content ?
(I don’t have a ‘Content’ folder there at all so I can’t check this.)
I’m not sure if it’s the mods folder, but if, then there are some quite huge files (as far as I can tell).
So if these are objects you downloaded and if there are some more of these huge files in it, this might be the cause of the crashing issues.
If these are downloaded files from content creators, have you tried taking them out (to a folder on your desktop, for example) and try if the game still crashes?
If it does, you can clear the cache, it’s the first post in the guide → here
For the webcache I have no idea if it got changed?
I also have only the ‘88849’ and ‘logs’ folders there there ö.Ö’
Hi @hkw127, since this is the same issue, I’ve merged your post here for reference. Additionally, as mentioned here, we need to make sure there are no problems with your game files.
