First off — huge thanks to the devs for this awesome update!
The new activities were such a fun surprise!
That said, there are a couple of things that could be tweaked.
Mango trees and banana trees… why do they vanish after harvesting? That feels super weird. I’d love to keep a mango grove and banana jungle on my land forever.
Oh, and since we already have an orange tree as decoration, why not make it actually useful?
There’s not much we can do with the crops right now. How about juicing? We already have a juicer in the game, it just doesn’t do anything. Let’s put it to work!
The harvest keeps stuffing the bag until it’s overloaded, and then Zoi complains about carrying all that weight. Poor guy.
Maybe add some kind of chest or storage where we can keep our crops? And it’d be awesome if stored crops didn’t spoil as fast as the ones in the bag.
Same idea could also work for gems we mine and for tools we craft to sell.
I totally agree! There’s something weird going on with the mango tree. And a chest or box to store collectibles is really, really needed.
I also wanted to say a big thank you for the great addon! It’s such a great game!
Agreed, other crops needing to be replanted after harvesting makes sense, trees should not be uprooted and replaced every time! Also, my farm has 2 of each tree, and typically I only harvest around 1 piece of fruit per tree, which makes them totally unviable at present. I think more produce should be harvested from trees than other crops, or at least an equivalent amount.
Also agree regarding storage, perhaps some dedicated storage for crops and rocks/minerals is required to ease the burden on backpacks. The only option at the moment is to sell everything, which means you can’t use it. I have tried placing items on shelving, but this has to be done manually, and crops went off (and could not be cleared away), while my metals were thrown out by a visiting npc. So not a good solution!
I’m having trouble with the crops that grow in pots. When you harvest the small apples you can’t use them for anything, same with the peppers. You can sell the corn, but that is the only one. The rest just sit in your bag unless you leave them somewhere or throw them away.
One thing I do love is the scarecrow. He is so useful when you have multiple plots of crops growing.
Regarding the bag getting heavy. They most my zoi has ever had in their bag was 173 items. The only thing that happened was they moaned about it being heavy. They made nearly 1000 mew selling crops though.
Have a ‘water all’, “weed all”, “Fertilize all” function.
Let us sell several types of items in one pass. As in I want to be able to sell all my tomatoes Including heart large etc. all my Corn etc. With a few clicks. Instead of ONE AT A TIME!!!
A little clearer indication of when plants need more water. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the browning.
Have a sprinkler that actually works and waters all the plants in the area.
I could sell a lot more produce (and other things) on a sales cart if I did not have to place them ONE AT A TIME!
In a nutshell anything to reduce the tedium and repetitiveness would be a good thing.
Or how about an assessment option? Instead of checking each plot you can get the zoi to assess all plots and work on them according to the need. This could be a skill that they gain through gardening, say at level 9 or 10, when they should be an expert.
Maybe we need farming to be a career path, a playable career path. That could create all of these improvements and have them bleed over to zois growing crops at home.
Of course, having progression would be great — if they manage to implement it well.
I just think that gardening and mining, in their current form, were implemented very quickly alongside the shift in Cahaya’s concept (from a full-scale city to a vacation world). So while both the base game and the DLC are still in early access, there’s room for improvement.
This is my impression, too. I would expect at the very least that current farming and crop-selling/storage will become more intuitive and efficient with further updates.
