Ideas and suggestions for crafting (feel free to add yours!)

I love the crafting system that came with the August patch but at the moment it still feels a little shallow.
So here are some suggestions for improvements or future expansions:

Gems are rather hard to aquire, especially if you want to make money with crafting as the only alternative to craft are tools that aren’t really profitable and there is no point in crafting lots of tools… So leveling up crafting feels rather difficult and takes a lot of waiting for collecting to level up first…

So here are some stuff that could be added for lower level crafting / more varity in craftable objects:

And here another expansion idea: Pottery

  • Zois may find clay near lakes and rivers (Dowon), or on the edges near non-playable farmlands (Cahaya) or buy it from farm shops (to be discussed)

  • Clay can be crafted into decorative vases that can be gifted, sold or simply used as decoration

Optional: Gardening ideas & pottery synergies

  • Zoi can buy flower seeds and plant flowers
  • flowers or flower seeds might also be found when observing wild flowers (e.g. those in Dowon park areas)
  • flowers can be harvested and sold
  • …or combined to bouquets by crafting that sell for a higehr price / are more valuable as gifts
    …or crafted to dried flower wreaths as wall decoration, gift OR unlockable hat / head accessory in CAZ
  • with pottery you can craft a special decorative vase item that is empty but can be filled with bouquets or single flowers by interaction (need flowers or bouqets in inventory).
  • You can change the flowers within the vase anytime by interacting as long as you have flowers in inventory. Vases with flowers or bouquets can also be sold on pocket market for a higher price than empty ones.
  • Flowers / bouquets in a vase may wither with time and have to be replaced by fresh ones (to be discussed)

Then it would be great to divide it into different directions: wood carving, stone carving, ceramics, floristry. And add a workstation for each skill. If you already have a workbench, you will also need a table for a florist and for ceramics. And for the lowest level of skills, you could make actions that will allow you to make products just like that, without a workstation. (for example, cut a small figure out of wood, mold a whistle or make a wreath of flowers) They will be cheap, but they can be given as a gift or used as a toy for children.

I love all these ideas, but it should also be easier to find gems in general. At the moment they almost never show up for me in mining spots, even with a gold pickaxe and a mid-level Gathering skill. At least let us buy raw gemstones for carving, even if the cost is high.

I forget which sim game had topiary and ice sculpture but I want that in inzoi! I love crafting so the more items of different materials we can craft the better. It would be nice if would recolor them after using a color wheel.
