In CAZ in the game, I keep over and over run into problems where I’m not able to make people have the facial feature they have irl, or when making up someone new but inspired by real people I’ve seen I can’t give them those features that real people have.
The main ones I’m running into are the ones I’ll mention. If anyone else has noticed this problem with a different slider or for a different facial feature, please add to the list in the comments.
New Sliders:
Face profile length. Some people have faces that protrude from the skull and neck a great distance, especially around the chin, mouth, and nose, (the area on other species that is a snout), some humans have faces that are more flat, some even concaved, and others have faces that the nose, mouth, and chin area all cooperatively extend out beyond the eyes and cheekbones and forehead quite a ways. Currently there is no slider for the horizontal length of the face from the side-view. This makes it impossible to make certain people and they wind up looking funny because from the side they look nothing like them or like a squished version of them.
A slider for the pointiness or roundedness of the nose tip from the side. Currently all noses have the same, slightly large and rounded, shape from the side-view. We can’t make certain zois look quite right or like what we are going for or what some real people look like because we can’t make the nose-tip from the side more dainty and narrow, which some people have.
A Body slider for the shoulder width. Some people have very narrow shoulders, not much distance from the neck to the shoulder. Others have extra wide shoulders. This doesn’t always correspond with the width of their neck or chest. Right now, all shoulders are the same width with the ability to edit the size of the shoulder itself, but not the width from the neck.
A cranium profile-length slider. This is less of an issue and probably knit-picky, but I figure I’ll mention it since we’re here. Some people’s craniums extend horizontally further back from their neck, and others have very flat heads that dont extend much at all from the back of the neck. Since people don’t tend to focus on that and it might impact the way hair and hats fits, it’s reasonable to me to ignore this part, but if it could be implemented, it would be great to be able to make this detail in what zois look like as well.
Expanded slider range:
The nose from the side, the ability to adjust the bridge, I feel needs to be expanded how much it can be adjusted. Some people have noses where the bridge just really juts out from the rest of the face and the root of the nose by quite a lot, having their nose almost resemble an eagle’s beak with the protruding bridge and sharp turn downwards. However this protrusion happens in other shapes as well. The bridge, imo, slider range needs to be extended to allow a more protruding bridge by quite a lot. It doesn’t even come close for certain real-life face-shapes.
These are the issues I run into the most often, but I know there are some others I run into less often and am not remembering right now. And there are likely others I haven’t noticed because I just haven’t tried making zois who look like that so haven’t thought of it.
