I was so exited to be able to skip the intro,
but it seems I just get automatically thrown into the last save?
Wish: I want to skip the intro but also want to be able to chose a save.
So let us skip the intro and open the ‘load’ tab with the saves.

@LennyOgg Works fine for me — when I skip the intro it takes me to the lobby screen where I can choose continue, new game, etc. It doesn’t load straight into a save. Maybe try toggling the option off/on and restart the game? If it still throws you right into your last save, could be a bug/glitch on your end.
Hope it works out, happy playing!

Thank you! I tried again and now it brings me to the Lobby.
It was so weird before, it wasn’t even the last save I’ve gotten thrown in but one of the last AutoSaves it creates even though I’ve turned them off.
After enabling to skip the intro, strangely it now opens the steam page right before it opens the game which overstrains my computer and the fans go wild.
I guess I keep watching the cats then ^^’

Nice, glad it takes you to the Lobby now!
As for AutoSaves, I think even with auto save disabled, the game still creates some safety auto saves in the background. They don’t interrupt gameplay, but they do show up in the save list.
Regarding Steam: it always runs in the background as the launcher, even if you use a desktop shortcut. In fact, sometimes when you launch directly from a shortcut, Steam still needs to open, check for updates, etc. I think if the game skips that step, it may cause small glitches. So, whether the Steam window is open or hidden shouldn’t affect performance — the launcher is always required anyway.

I think when the steam window is fully opened it does actively start to load all those pics and videos which it doesn’t while in the background. It took and takes a while until it’s fully loaded.
From what I’ve seen on discord and reddit auto saves cause quite a lot of troubles, therefore I turned them off. I also save in rotation so all these autosaves makes navigating very tiring.I have up to 5 auto saves between my save files even though I turned them off ^^’
Lenny you can always close the Steam window once the game is running, it won’t affect gameplay.
About autosaves, I only see a max of 3 for each save file—usually 1 or 2, all different. The number of autosaves seems to depend on playtime, save frequency, and some safety autosaves the game makes even if auto save is off. I know it can get tiring to navigate through them!
Since the game is still in early access, I’m sure the devs will improve the autosave system and make navigating saves easier in future updates.
