Make active Careers more interesting

I would love to recommend adjusting the active careers so they become rather fun than feeling like a chore.

I just played a whole day of the burger place career and left disappointed and not wanting to do this again. I understand that jobs in real life may not be fun for everyone, but in games they can be tuned better to actually be fun. I’m comparing the burger place career with the Sims 4 restaurant ownership or small business or home chef hustle activities, which all 3 are more fun and challenging.

My experience with the burger career in inZoi:

  1. The activities were time measured (stand at counter for 60 minutes), which makes it dreadful to wait the time out or have to fast-forward the day
  2. Some of the activities couldn’t be done (like talking to customers how their food was) until the customer actually arrived and fully finished their food, which again made me wait a lot of real life minutes looking at a customer to wait until i can finally interact with them → this is not fun :frowning:
  3. My work items were all done at 4 and i had to wait 3 more hours to finally leave the burger place and be paid → again waiting is not fun

My suggestions:

  1. Make it slightly challenging → requiring the player to multitask to stay ahead of the tasks (for example have more customers come in and the tables get very dirty faster, so you have to actually run around and clean them before the mess becomes too bad. Also let us take the order at the cashier, instead of the customers just doing it all themselves. It feels good if there is a line of customers all waiting for you, and you getting them all taken care of one by one with the actions on the job.)
  2. Make your actions actually have an impact on the customers → let us make the fries for the dish, and deliver it to them, otherwise customers may complain or leave when they wait too long. Or customers make more dirt if the player doesn’t deliver food to them faster. Right now nothing we do actually matters, customers get their food no matter if my Zoi works or not, which is boring. And having to make the fries and create the dish and run to the customer is a lot more fun than standing around and doing something that doesn’t matter.
  3. Add some surprise factors that add reward moments: If the zoi is working fast enough or is friendly to customers, let them give your zoi tips for example, or a message from them that compliments your work, and gives them a happy mood.

I also think that it would be nice to get rejected from some jobs, especially if your character has a criminal record or something. Would be a nice touch
