[02.27.26] Updates to facial sliders in the near future could be catastrophic, please consider this.

I am greatly concerned about the mention of updates being made to Zoi facial sliders in the roadmap.

If you are going to edit existing facial sliders in the future, PLEASE do not leave us with zois with broken faces. That would be catastrophic for creators and Canvas.

There was already a problem like this with the Zoi bodies created in the CAZ Demo when the game was first released and I would not like a repeat of that on a larger scale.

You should either add sliders that won’t conflict with existing zoi faces, or make a migration tool that adapts our existing Zois’ faces to the changes and lets them look the same.

I cannot stress this enough. If not handled correctly, this change could break the Zoi faces that we have spent many hours to create.

I with you on this idea, I’m hoping they only add more sliders so that we can fix the foreheads and eye creases and hoping these new sliders don’t change our preexisting zoi faces :+1:

Personally, I disagree. I do think that the developers should do there best to keep things backwards compatible, but ultimately we have to accept that we are playing an early-access game, and saves may not always be backwards-compatible.

I would rather the developers make saves obsolete in updates than limit themselves to potential updates that could make the game significantly better.

Now, once the game officially leaves early access, I agree that there shouldn’t be any updates that break backwards-compatibility, but during early access, it’s normal for games to make save-breaking changes. It’s just a part of it and something that you have to accept. They’re going to limit the games final quality if they limit themselves to never breaking old saves.
