Please Return make up preset to the previous version before December update.

  • I would like to request that you guys please change the make up preset to their original version before update 5.0. It was not broken and it didn’t need to be fix. I’m sure many people would agree with me. The new version it has become unusable for players that don’t want to change the physical appearance of their zois only the make up.

  • From December 2025 Update to present. After the December update the makeup presets are not working. When you select a new makeup preset. It doesn’t only change the makeup up but it also changes the eye color, eyebrow shape, and the eyelashes.

  • The first picture I attached is to show how my zoi looks before I applied a makeup presets. The other pictures are to prove how after I applied a makeup preset how her grey eyes changed to brown, her thin eyebrows changed to some random bushy eyebrows and her eyelashes.

  • Sometimes When I see a makeup in canvas ALL I want is the make up but all of the sudden the make up preset change the eyebrows, and the color of the eyes. The eyebrow and the color of the eyes many of the time are customized to our liking and is very hard to remover what colors do we use of how we crates the shape for the eyebrows. So basically the new make up presets are destroying a zoi that I spend hours creating. I believe many people would agree with me. The whole point of make up resent is just to change the make up. If we want to change the eye color or eyebrow shape we can do it later in CAZ. Respectfully this update was the dumber decision ever. You changed something that worked perfectly fine and destroy it completely. Thank you in advance for the consideration.

Ideally, the make-up preset should have user selectable check boxes for eyebrows, eye color, lipstick, and so on.

When saving a preset, the user (player) can select the required boxes, and save the preset.

When applying a preset, the user can select only the boxes they need and then apply the preset.

This way the player can apply a preset, make changes only to a few makeup items such as eye color and lipstick, and save as a new preset checking only those boxes.

This way almost all use cases will be accounted for

  • create a new preset from scratch,
  • apply an existing preset,
  • apply only some items from an existing preset, (partially apply a preset - useful for family members where we can have only slight variations in eye color, hair etc.)
  • apply an existing preset, modify some items and save it as a new preset retaining unchanged items and adding the new changed items.

Hope we get this fix soon.

I LOVE this idea.

After that AR guy posted on your bug report and said this is working as intended, I wrote this:

Right now I am just too :face_with_symbols_on_mouth: angry about this to say anything more than I wish the dev team would actually think about how players are going to use something like this.

Makeup and style presets are the dumbest and most useless thing this development team has done yet, and I hope it’s the very last braindead idea they get and stuff into this game!!!

I don’t think it will be the last one.

Since the October update I experience this ‘it gets worse‘ in many aspects of the game.

The traits, the camera, the graphics. . . So many things that worked just fine (and also those that came new, like businesses) are less than half baked and it worries me a lot to see which road inZOI goes down since then.

I can’t even be happy about features from the new roadmap I wished and waited for so long, because I fear what they will break or how messed up they might be :psycat_upset:

Not only that, but we can’t even expect the dev team to understand what players want even when they ask in perfectly straightforward language!

Why would players want makeup presets to change their eye colour, eye brows, and eye lashes??? That’s not makeup.

Why would players want a style preset to change skin colour and eye colour? I get it that the hair has to be saved because for a player to use it as players wanted to use it (in order to have a different style per category), then different hair styles must be possible.

But players want makeup and style features to make things quicker and easier for them. This feature does nothing of the sort. It’s better to just take screenshots of makeup settings and apply those same values and settings to the other zoi.

I’m concerned too. I think there were some great improvements added in both updates (family interactions in the December 23, especially between parents and babies, for example). The new crime and baking skills are fun to play with. so I still have a bit of hope.

It’s just that things like this, things that are smaller than the major gripes (changed personalities, removed city management and customization, and removed the karma system entirely), really do add up quickly.

Which bad/dumb ideas upset which player is different for a lot of us. And to a point, this sort of thing happens in every game like this: some features are beloved by some players and hated by others, some are seen as useless by some and others have found value from it.

However, I don’t feel confident that the inZOI development team understands their players.

IMO there’s no cause to panic over mistakes and missteps when we’re still 1yr+ from release. However, the mods checking the bug report forum need to be less defensive, rather than defaulting to “this is intended behaviour”. If players are perceiving your ‘feature’ as a bug, there’s a high chance it’s not working as intended.

Some of us are traumatized by a previous life simulation game that after more than 10 years they almost never fixed most of the bugs and those keeps accumulating. Also, every update they brake something new.

I’m panicking because I been noticing this trend with inzoi as well. Every update they add some really cool stuff but in the process they brake 20 more.

I just recently tried this function. And I was surprised that the color of the eyes changed. It really makes these presets useless.
Regarding the eyebrows, I can understand the logic of why this is due to makeup. But it would be better if they didn’t change either. In my opinion, makeup is something that can be changed every day. Eyebrow shape is more permanent

The makeup preset still changes eyes and eyebrows: eyes and eyebrows are not part of what makeup is. I’m reviving this topic and opening and attaching another one in Wishlist, always thinking about the “makeup preset” category

On the flip side the PRESET is just that a set of settings already made up , You can still change each part individually by clicking on eyes , lipstick , blush etc under makeup

Yes, but the point is that skin color or iris color doesn’t belong to the makeup category. This “makeup preset,” as it is now, makes it quite inconvenient to download a “makeup preset” from Canvas and then have to change all the HTML codes every time to restore iris and eyebrow colors, not to mention pupil size, color blending, and so on. Sure, a player might do it once in a while, but in the long run I think it can tire the player out and therefore make the category that was put on Canvas practically useless.

There’s something wrong, and the solution shouldn’t come from the player going crazy trying to find it, but from the developer who fixes the error.

Totally agree. This is a bug, it’s been active for months now and it needs to be fixed as speedily as possible. Maybe we need more people to start raising it on the Discord, as unfortunately that seems to be the only way to get a response a lot of the time.

I understand that! but what I’m saying is that the eye color changes not only the make up. Sometimes we created costume eyes including the color and pupil, and iris size. But if you apply any make up the eye will change completely to what you had given to your zoi originally and sometimes it’s impossible to recreate the eye your zoi previously had because most of the time you don’t remember the settings you used. So if you see a make up you like on canvas and want to try it on your zois the original setting you have for the eyes changes completely. Not to say the eyebrow shape and style as well.

Previously the make up would not change the eyes only the actual make up and eyes, eyebrows and eyelashes would stay the same. The make up was working perfectly like make up is supposed to work before.
