Thank you very much for the quick reply :folded_hands:

I just tested your way to reproduce in my game and no crash happened + the folder opened without issues. Would you please provide the Dxdiag file of your setup in another reply here? If you haven’t created one before, here’s the official guide on how to do it:

EDIT: Is this your first time playing the game or has it worked without crashing before?

DxDiag.txt (102.5 KB)

All other features work fine, but whenever I click on that photo folder button, the entire game freezes and becomes unresponsive. I can’t operate it or exit, and I can only force quit it through the Task Manager.

Thanks for the fast reply with the Dxdiag. Here’s a short summary of what I’ve found:

Your DxDiag does not show a hardware limitation.
CPU, RAM and GPU are all strong enough and the DirectX/display section reports no obvious issues.
The most relevant part is that Windows Error Reporting shows AppHangB1 for both inZOI-Win64-Shipping.exe and explorer.exe.
That suggests the freeze is likely happening when the game tries to open the photo folder through Windows Explorer, rather than from a GPU or performance issue.
This points toward a Windows shell / folder path issue, such as a broken Pictures path, OneDrive-redirected folder, unavailable directory or Explorer shell extension conflict.

Things you can try to fix / test these likely causes:

  1. Manually open the inZOI photo/save screenshot folder in File Explorer first.
  2. Check whether the Pictures/Documents folder is redirected to OneDrive or a missing path.
  3. Reset the default Pictures folder location to a local path.
  4. Run Steam and inZOI as Administrator once for testing.
  5. Disable Explorer shell extensions / overlay tools temporarily (OneDrive, archive tools, screenshot tools, RGB/overlay apps).
  6. Test with a clean Windows user account using only ASCII characters in the username/path.

Not all of these steps are equally easy to test, so feel free to try whichever you prefer or can find time to deal with atm of course

What is the default path for storing photos?

The default folder location should be: C:\Users<username>\Documents\inZOI\Photo
You can check if this folder is correctly generated. If it isn’t there, you should verify the game files via Steam. Here’s a short guide on how to do it: How to verify your game viles via steam

Okay, I found the folder. As for why I can’t open it in the game, I’ll look into it further. Thanks~

I closed OneDrive, uninstalled some image viewer plugins that might have caused conflicts, but it still crashes consistently. I’m not sure which software has the compatibility issue, so I can only stop using this feature for now

Yes, that’d be best, I suppose. If it keeps happening even after disabling OneDrive and removing image plugins, it might simply be a bug in how the game calls the Windows shell on some systems. Hopefully the developers can reproduce it once they see the DxDiag and the steps :slightly_smiling_face:
