Hello everyone! I was playing and came up with the following idea regarding household economy management:
Main Idea
Currently the money system works mainly as a common household fund. Although there is an option to withdraw money from the bank, it’s often unclear what its usefulness is when all family members share the same money.
The proposal consists of introducing a system of individual and shared bank accounts, which would allow for more realistic and narrative economic management within families.
How the System Works
Each Zoi could have:
- Personal account: their own money that only that character can use.
- Household account: common fund for house expenses.
- Optional shared accounts (for example between couples).
When moving in with another character, several options could be chosen:
- Fully shared account
- Separate accounts
- Mixed system (personal account + common account)
This would allow for more realistic situations, like a separation of assets.
Gameplay Examples
This system would allow for many interesting interactions:
- Giving birthday money to a child, which would go into their personal account.
- Grandparents who provide financial help to children or grandchildren.
- Couples where each one manages their own money.
- Teenage children who learn to manage their own budget.
- Characters who save in secret for personal projects.
Benefits for the Game
- Greater realism in household economy.
- More emergent stories between characters.
- Greater depth in money management.
- New family and social dynamics.
This system would make economic decisions within the household more meaningful and would add new ways of interaction between Zois.
