Thank you for reporting this. I’ve noticed that the latest update raised the VRAM spikes when opening the main menu, the map and the calendar too. Could you please lower some of the settings and try again?

If you want to know which settings you can lower without having major graphical changes, here’s a short guide for it: inZOI – Graphics & Performance Guide (What Actually Matters)

That didn’t work

Thank you for testing it :folded_hands:

Would you please read through the following steps and add the requested files here?

DxDiag Report (Windows)

  • Windows: Press [Windows+R], type [dxdiag], and click [Save All Information].

Crash Dump Files

  • Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Saved\Crashes
  • MAC (Steam): Users{UserName}\Library\Application Support\UnrealEngine\5.4\Saved\Crashes
  • MAC (App Store): Users{UserName}\Library\Containers\com.krafton.inzoi\Data\Library\Application Support\UnrealEngine\5.4\Saved\Crashes

If you are unsure which file to include, please compress all related files and send them.

Please also make sure to send the full, unedited files. Partial or modified files may prevent proper investigation.

EDIT: I moved your post to the Technical Help category, because it’s very likely a setup related issue. Thanks for understanding :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t have an UnrealEngine folder inside Application Support.

I tried resetting to the default settings in the game and then restarted my computer. That worked for the first time I opened and closed the map but the next I opened the map when I closed it, it switched back to the schedule and only top menu banner showed the game while the rest of the screen showed the schedule.

Thank you for the additional information :slightly_smiling_face:

Please create an DxDiag file of your setup (like mentioned in my previous post) and post it in a reply here. This helps to detect possible conflicts. Thank you :folded_hands:

I have a Mac not windows. I also don’t believe I have a VRAM only RAM which is 32gb.

Mac uses unified RAM but in the end it’s pretty much the same :slightly_smiling_face:

Then you can’t do a DxDiag, but upload your system profile instead. That’s very similar.

Sure I can do that! Do you need the whole .spx file or can I send you print out of sections of it? I’m just concerned about sending any personal information in the whole file. I really appreciate all your help with this

You can make screenshots of it (only the important parts, e.g. the latest driver numbers, etc.) and redact / paint over and cut away the info you don’t want to share of course

Does this work or do you need more information?

Thank you for providing the info so fast :folded_hands:

Would you please, if you haven’t done this already, try to clear the shaders & cache? I’m not a Mac user, but according to my research it should be located in one of these folder paths:
~/Library/Application Support/inZOI/Saved/
~/Library/Application Support/Epic/UnrealEngine/Common/

Here’s what you can delete in these folders:

  • DerivedDataCache
  • ShaderCache

Please note that the game mustn’t be running or opened in any way while you’re deleting any of these files :slightly_smiling_face:

I was able to locate:
~/Library/Application Support/inZOI/Saved/
but there are none of the files you referenced to delete

I found the path:
~/Library/Application Support/Epic/UnrealEngine
but there was no ā€˜Common’ folder or any of the referenced files to delete

I did clear the PSO cache inside the game yesterday, could that have something do with the files not being there?

I don’t think that causes the issue, but to doublecheck, is there any option in the client you’ve purchased inZOI with, to verify the game files? This usually repairs corrupted or broken data without you losing any progress in game.

I use Steam, I did verify the game files. It worked for a bit but then when I went to back to play the game again later I would open the map but the schedule would open instead and then when I try to go back to the game the schedule won’t close but some of the game elements would open and there’s nothing I can do fix it. I’ve attached a screenshot.

I did another ā€˜verify game files’ and restarted the computer and tried again. It worked once but then the same thing happened the next time I tried to open map again

Please help! I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, deleted all previous saves and started fresh and am still having the issue. The game is no longer enjoyable because I can’t use the map, schedule or calendar features without having to exit to the main lobby in order to continue to play the game. I have attached a screen recording to show you what is happening. The map opens but immediately switches to the schedule and when I try to go back to the game the schedule won’t disappear and stays as an overlay over the game. It also doesn’t just happen with map, it’s when I open the schedule or calendar features as well. The only way to remove the overlay is to exit to the lobby.

Hello!

Please correct me if I am wrong but on Mac:VRAM = shared memory (unified RAM). Even with 32gb some unreal games/processes can cause issues on Mac.

It does seems verifying the files fixes the issue temporary which could indicate that either the files ge.t ā€œcorruptedā€ again or that the issue is in generated data (cache/shaders) rather than the base files.

Let’s try to fix it!

  1. Close the game completely

  2. Go to:

    ~/Library/Application Support/

  3. Delete (or rename):

    • inZOI folder

    • Any UnrealEngine folders you find

  4. Restart Mac

  5. Launch game fresh

This forces:

  • Shader rebuild/ UI reset / Fixes hidden corruption

Now here is a VERY RADICAL approach: do this just as a last resort

  1. Delete entire:

    ~/Library/Application Support/inZOI

  2. Restart Mac

  3. Launch game (fresh rebuild)

  4. Lower textures + shadows slightly

:shield: Safe way to do it (recommended)

Instead of deleting immediately:

  1. Go to:

    ~/Library/Application Support/

  2. Rename:

    inZOI → inZOI_backup

  3. Launch the game

    If everything works:

  • You can delete the backup later

    If something breaks:

  • Restore it instantly

:warning: May remove local settings and possibly saves but should fix any other issues.
