I understand why adding a height slider in a life sim is difficult. Different heights can break animations, interactions, and object alignment.
However, the current presets already suggest a possible middle ground:
female Zois appear slightly shorter than male Zois by default.
This made me wonder if a simpler solution could work.
Suggestion
Allow players to choose body frame independently from gender.
For example:
-
Male Zois could use the shorter body frame that is already coded for females
-
Female Zois could use the taller body frame that is already coded for males
If animations are already tied to body type, it might just mean assigning the existing animation sets to the selected frame instead of gender.
Why this could work
This would allow:
-
shorter male Zois
-
taller female Zois
-
more visual variety between characters
while avoiding the technical complexity of a full height slider.
Even just two frame options instead of one per gender would add a lot of customization.
Dev question:
Would something like this be technically feasible within the current animation system?
Curious what everyone thinks too, would this be a good option for you?
