  • Steps to Reproduce: Collide with a vehicle when driving in manual mode

  • Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.

  • Details:
    Crashing while driving seems to have got worse with the recent update rather than better, and I am unsure whether this is a bug or just placeholder while the mechanic is improved.

  • Colliding with another vehicle no longer causes the driver to get out or react in any way. In fact there is just a loading screen after which all cars and vehicles disappear. The game then crashes to desktop shortly after.

  • I assume this is not intended behaviour; does anyone else have this happen?

I begrudgingly chalked this with all of the “unwanted changes” the “wtf WHY ?” changes this game is becoming notorious for over the last year.

If this is a bug, it is actually good news and I hope they fix it / add those animations back in.
I agree just getting a black screen and some time penalty is really weird and a let down.

You’re right about what you’re saying, the same thing happens to me when an accident occurs. I only get a loading screen, then the window appears showing that a traffic accident has occurred and all the vehicles that were nearby disappear. There’s no longer an option for drivers to get out of their vehicles to discuss why the accident happened, but it doesn’t freeze for me. After that, I just keep driving.

I do believe this is a bug, because vehicles shouldn’t be disappearing and the game shouldn’t be crashing. I will try it in my game and tell you if I experience the same.

Just wanted to add that after the majority of the Discord playerbase expressed their dislike about the small loading screen when crashing vehicles I don’t really understand why they added it. They gave us to options and I believe most people were in favour of the more smooth one without a loading screen.
