Faster/Bulk CurseForge and Canvas Subscriptions

Use Case:

For an active user of life simulation games with user created content like this, my usual experiance is to have 300+ downloads in the first week and 1500+ within the first year. (small numbers, I know ). Since nearly all the downloads are visual items (textures, clothes, furnature, etc.) we mostly know if we want an item just from the thumbnail or/and recognizing the artist.

Potential Improvements:

  • A download button (or checkbox for bulk page downloads) on the item’s thumbnail. Canvas, in-game CurseForge, and curseforge.com force the user to load the item’s full description page to subscribe, then use the back navigation to reload the search page results (curseforge.com often defaults this load to the bottom of the list…)
  • Search Results: Download All / Download Selected — Often, when searching for something we end up wanting everything (or most) of the search results.
  • Artists: Download All / Download Selected — Similarly, for artists we like enough to follow we want to subscribe to all (or most) of their items.

Today I saw a “Unsubscribe All” button in the In-game mod interface. This is dangerous without an ‘undo’ or similar counter balance. If I were to try to subscribe to 1500 items today it would probably take 30 hours.
