[04.02.26] Ability to manually pose Zoi in any position

I’ve already suggested this idea, but I want to highlight it as a separate topic. And attach illustrations of how this was implemented in an old game. This would allow us to easily create new poses and act out our own scenarios for story shoots.

So, give us the ability to directly control Zoi’s position when taking photos, simply by dragging arrows to the sides. Preferably two modes: basic and advanced. In basic mode — arm, leg, and body position, facial expression preset selection, and gaze direction. In advanced mode — with hand gesture selection, fine-tuning (like in CAZ) of facial expressions, height adjustment above the floor, and so on. So that you could depict anything: flight, handstand, yoga poses, etc.

The screenshots below show examples: basic position, falling forward, and “wild jump,” where I’ve indicated with a red arrow that gaze direction is also controlled by moving a virtual object. If you add knee and elbow bend adjustment to this, it would be absolutely perfect!

I hope you’ll consider this possibility :folded_hands: With love and gratitude for your work! :sparkling_heart:

I used to think about this too. But it would be better and more logical to do it for photo mode. It would be cool to take a photo in whatever pose you want. Also add objects and decorations to the photo scene - whatever you like. I wanted to take a photo with my avatar next to my bike. I think we should create a separate thread for this.

Just in life mode I don’t really see how and why to do this. Perhaps, as we discussed, a separate game mode “Director” or “God” would need to be created for this, but in classic mode - it’s just not needed. And based on the popularity of the post, players don’t need this. So I propose we close this thread here and move it as a feature to what I described above, it will be more logical and proper that way.

Of course, only for photo mode. Just so it’s not with transferring to studio conditions, but in the same place where the character is located. But the character themselves and everyone around could be moved, given any poses and facial expressions, take photos - and after pausing stops, they would all return to their original positions without interrupting the gameplay.

And the topic is unpopular, as I understand, simply because it duplicates already existing ones. When I created it, the forum didn’t suggest to me that similar ones already existed, and I only saw it after publishing.

Just there concepts from engines are shown, but here I took a real existing game where this was implemented. And quite conveniently - you drag the sliders, and stretch the arms and legs however you want, turn the head, and choose any emotion on the face. And each pose can be saved as a template so you can slightly adjust it later if needed: for example, the direction of arms during hugs, or a facial expression. This is much easier than taking a separate photo for every small change, uploading it and creating a new pose that’s almost indistinguishable from the previous one.

I’d really like to see a more refined way to take pictures in game and the arrows are quite a good idea. Thank you for bringing this up :folded_hands:

Btw, I actually squealed when I saw the Singles 2 screenshots. It’s been such a cool, underrated game back then. Thanks for bringing back these memories

I would like to add that I would like to logically launch into photo mode, through the camera on my phone or camera as usual in real time. And also have a mini studio with a green backdrop to create specific photo conditions and decorations. But I think it’s necessary to create a separate theme.

Yes, it’s a vivid memory for me too. Such a “Sims with a story”, even if it’s directed only at romance

By the way, right now it’s not working – for some reason it runs very slowly on modern hardware. I barely managed to take these screenshots, and playing is absolutely impossible. Probably if I installed it on a virtual machine with Windows XP – something might work, but I think it’s better to keep this just as a pleasant memory :folded_hands:

Yes, maybe. Right now the developers are working on something different, but if I don’t see any discussions in this direction over the summer – I’ll try to bring this up again :+1:

Yes, I remember that it’s truly unplayable on modern hardware. I tried to get it to work a few years ago and couldn’t pull it off. I think it was developed by a small German team which was closed a while ago, so unfortunately we’ll have to stick to inZOI for now =) Glad someone else still has vivid memories of that game though.

Here I am! I really hope more people see this suggestion because I genuinely think it would be an amazing addition to the game.

As someone who spends way too much time taking screenshots, creating stories, and generally trying to put Zois in very specific situations to share it or just as part of my custom content pics, I can’t count the number of times I’ve wished for something like this. Sometimes the perfect shot is right there but there isn’t an animation that matches what you’re trying to create, or a background you could add etc. Like precisely inZoi could be the game to offer just that, and I hope it will in the future just like with the face/motion capture feature being expanded (hopefully this is proper english )

The advanced mode especially is something I would love to have in this game, and I am sure many more people as well. Being able to adjust limbs, facial expressions, gaze direction, and even height from the ground would open up so many creative possibilities for storytellers, photographers, content creators, and even modders.

I mean like it wouldn’t take anything away from players who prefer the current system. It would simply be an additional tool for those who want more control. I don’t know how technically feasible it is, but this is one of those ideas that feels very aligned with inZOI’s creative spirit. Between CAZ, Build Mode, Canvas, and Photo Mode, the game already encourages players to create and share things. A pose editor feels like a natural next step.

Boosting this in the hope the team gives it some consideration. I actually have a lot of hope for this one.

PS. The devs have been implementing things from not so popular wishlists here so I have hopes.

That’s the moment when you want to say “I agree with every word”! :+1: :+1: :+1:

I can’t count how many times I’ve wanted to be able to just position characters however I like in relation to each other, capture gestures that simply aren’t available in the game, and take a screenshot!

When I played “Singles 2”, I didn’t yet understand the potential of this mode. But now, looking at InZOI, I realize how successfully this feature would fit into this game and make life easier for storytellers! :folded_hands:

@itsmechiie7, thank you for paying attention to this topic!

That would be really great, my friend. :folded_hands:

I’ll support this topic because there’s currently no way to take the photo I need.
