[04.17.26] Another Week of Development (Updated)

Thank you for your valuable feedback on last week’s school gameplay. We are currently focusing on mod development and continuously working on overall stabilization. Your suggestions will be implemented step by step where feasible.

A simple first-person perspective has been implemented and will be available in an upcoming update. In Build Mode, we are developing a feature that allows selecting multiple items at once to improve workflow efficiency. New careers, including a hair designer and a clothing store operator, are being added, with further expansion planned.

A freelancer system will allow users to publish their creations and earn rewards based on responses. For corporate careers, we have added features such as interviews, leave management, and workplace events. In addition, we have expanded interactable objects, improved quality-of-life features, and added various content including new hairstyles and baby items.

To lower the barrier to mod creation, we are preparing external appearance expansion features, including MetaHuman integration. We will continue refining the experience based on your feedback from this update.

This week as well, we carefully reviewed a wide range of community feedback and suggestions. Many of you have shown strong anticipation for the upcoming update, and while that enthusiasm is something we truly appreciate, it also brings a certain level of concern. Expectations can be a powerful source of motivation for us, but we want to ensure they remain grounded. Alongside many positive reactions to recent updates, you have also shared a substantial number of ideas for improvements and new features.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

In particular, we received detailed feedback regarding the character personality system, the development of baby and toddler stages, career systems such as hair stylists and clothing store management, the introduction of a first-person perspective, MetaHuman integration, and various features aimed at enhancing realism and immersion.

Community Response and Key Updates

There is strong interest in the introduction of first-person perspective and the addition of careers such as hair stylists and clothing store operators. Many of you expressed a desire for more detailed mechanics within the hair stylist career, including processes like washing, drying, and dyeing, as well as customer satisfaction systems. To be precise, these elements have not been fully implemented in this update.

Interest in the baby stage remains high, with requests for more detailed growth processes (such as walking and speaking), as well as a wider variety of hairstyles and clothing. We are continuing to expand these options, and additional outfits are planned for May.

Regarding MetaHuman integration, there have been concerns about clipping issues and requests for improvements to the genetic system. Many of you are asking for a more sophisticated system where traits are inherited from both parents in a more realistic way. Currently, inZOI relies on transformations based on a base face, which imposes certain limitations on facial blending. We will continue internal discussions on how to improve this.:kjun_heart:

Gameplay and System Improvements

Within the career system, there is strong demand for more diverse tasks, clearer promotion pathways, the inclusion of minigames, and more realistic job activities (such as firefighting or expanded police duties). The Career update we are preparing follows a “Fundamental First” approach. Our priority is to strengthen core elements that have not been sufficiently developed so far, such as interviews, promotions, leave systems, and remote work. We will continue expanding job variety in subsequent updates.

There were also many detailed suggestions regarding clothing store management, including inventory control, trend responsiveness, personalized outfit recommendations, fashion shows, and social media marketing systems. Currently, the store provides a direct purchase experience through mannequins. We are preparing to incorporate the requested features to deliver a more robust and engaging management experience.

For the hair stylist career, many of you requested deeper mechanics such as hair length changes, temporary dye effects, tip variations based on customer satisfaction, diverse hairstyle and accessory combinations, and even the separation of male barbershops. We plan to implement a system where available styles depend on the character’s skill level, and we will continue refining the experience based on your feedback.

There were also frequent comments regarding the lack of natural variation in emotional expression and animation, as well as requests to strengthen the visual representation of personality systems. Improvements in these areas are planned for May, including additional animations and better alignment between emotions and animation output.

Interface, Graphics, and Additional Features

In build mode, there were requests for advanced tools such as multi-selection, group saving, object rotation, and mirroring. Additional feedback included improvements to texture management, controller usability, skin quality, and camera height adjustment.:man_bowing:

If “object rotation” refers to free rotation, we are considering providing this as a cheat option. As for mirroring, while duplicating object placement is feasible, generating true mesh-level symmetry is technically challenging. Providing duplication-based alternatives may be more practical, and we would value your input on this direction.

We also recognize that managing large numbers of textures can be cumbersome, and we will discuss UI improvements internally.

Cultural Diversity and Immersion

There were suggestions to deepen immersion by incorporating global cultural elements and seasonal events such as Christmas, New Year, Valentine’s Day, and Halloween, while still maintaining the core Korean cultural identity of the game. We also received requests to expand representation through diverse hairstyles, ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations. We are continuously developing additional clothing and hairstyles in this regard.

Additional Suggestions and Future Content

Many of you proposed expanding interactive career experiences in fields such as healthcare (doctors, nurses) and education (teachers), along with the addition of related facilities like hospitals and pharmacies.

There is also strong interest in expanding into sports (such as ice hockey and skating), as well as creative and social professions like photographers, models, and musicians.

Further suggestions included diversifying vehicle types, improving transportation systems, expanding urban environments, and increasing flexibility in building placement. Enhancing realism through more varied NPC behavior was also frequently mentioned, including child safety systems, deeper NPC interactions, crime systems, and vehicle collision responses.

Conclusion

Thank you again for the wide range of thoughtful and engaging feedback this week. Even suggestions submitted during the writing of this message, such as the surfing idea, have already been reviewed and discussed internally. We were also inspired by the visuals and concepts many of you shared alongside your feedback.

Your passion continues to be a significant source of motivation for the development team. However, it is important to clarify that there will not be a major update this month. Our current focus is on stabilization and strengthening the foundational systems of the game.

Yay! Being able to move a group of objects all at once will make things so much easier. Thank you!!

Also, I like the new ability to sit beneath a tree. I hope we’ll be able to multitask this with other activities such as reading.

The first-person perspective is amazing, and I wish there could also be a fixed camera feature, like making a camera furniture piece that can lock time, for example, quickly reset after clicking. This would be convenient for players who like taking screenshots. Many of my friends are currently using inzoi to introduce projects to their clients, and while this might sound crazy, it’s really happening.

I always find it crazy with the updates, you make an initial announcement and it leaves me pretty chill since it doesn’t really grab me as a topic, and then you make a second announcement or release the update and I think “Wow!” Like this school theme, it’s not really my thing, maybe I’ve got some school trauma ;D - but then it turns out that Kjun and Co have developed so much extra stuff around it that pretty much every update positively surprises me. I can only say “Thank you!” and you guys should be really proud of yourselves. Really awesome, the amount of heart and soul you guys put into your work. Respect!

Wow K-jun this is very exciting to see and hear, and u really got me on that hair salon but I have an idea I would like to see next week, about the hairstyling career it would be fun and realistic when u add little hair falling down and scissors clipping sounds, when styling the hair. And the other thing is, I suggest u add a DOCTOR career in your future updates, and thank u for the exciting new updates really hoping to see more on next week FRIDAY and its good u are upgrading the modkit…:grinning_face: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Wow! Very interesting updates. I’m very curious to learn more about the hair designer. How will it affect both our Sims’ lives and non-player Sims’ lives. It would be great to open your own beauty salon) I don’t understand what MetaHuman is. Can someone explain it to me?

Heyyyyyyy! its me again, I was not expecting this but impressive how do u even manage to make all of that in one week. Ok now am going to the point, I think, aaaaaaammmmhhh the next thing u should work on hate to say this but the interactions sounds dead like they’re just missing some Drama, facial reactions; like people are always looking happy for no reason and the thing that is bad is clapping and cheering at the wrong time. And what I would really like to see is adding more fantastic activities especially the club THANK U.

It’s related to the game engine, Unreal Engine. To put it briefly - it’s what’s responsible for natural character movements and facial expressions, cloth behavior, and the ability to transfer animations (for example, capturing a person’s movements and applying them to a troll or an animated piece of stone). Basically, it’s a character creation mode, but here it involves importing models that can’t be created with the game’s standard tools. Based on what was shown in the video - models with disproportionate bodies, altered limb length and thickness, fantastical faces…

I know that this question will not be answered, but I have to ask anyway,

Are there any plans on fixing bugs anytime soon?

This should be top priority coming before more new content, and there are bug reports still existing from December unanswered and not fixed.

Personally I am well pleased with buying inZOI, it was a good price for the awesome creator aspects of the game, and I am looking forward to playing the game, but I have zero tolerance and I do not waste time playing broken games, come-on inZOI team please spend some time and fix what you have already created and boost your morale :+1:

Hearing / reading about everything that’s currently in development is always a blast, but seeing what we’ll get in a few days blew me off of my feet. I can’t wait to play it. Great progress as usual ! :heart_eyes:

Regarding the hairstylist career :

  • Allow us to permanently change others zois makeup and hairstyle.
  • Implement a portfolio in careers : Like a photographed memory system. Each time you finish a makeover you succeded in, you could have the option to take one picture of the zoi you did the makeover of. The portfolio system could be useful for many careers, not just the hairstylist by the way. It’s a quick way to showcase your creations to others zois to impress them (for a new career, to bond with others people, to persuade someone etc.)
  • Allow us to make money in and out of the salon to support freelancing careers, maybe you could organize makeovers at home as long as you posess either a strong portfolio/a good relationship with the person/enough skills in that department

Regarding the clothing store owner buisiness :

  • Implement a sales system that would attract more customers.
  • Implement a system that would allow the player to create whole ouftits placed on a mannequin that could be imported directly from canva that others zois could buy directly and wear permanently.
  • Implement a system that would bring a scalable price to ouftits where each piece worn would make the price of the overall ouftitgo higher (a whole ouftit with shoes, dress, coat, hat, socks would cost more than a ouftit with only shoes and dress on)

***Hello! this game is on firrrrrrrrrrrrrre, well…, I wasn’t expecting all this breath taking content, sorry am just too excited to see all of this but what I think is missing is more interactions well…! I mean you’re too focused on adding activities which is great but, you’re forgetting other things like interactions like crime oh especially this one u need to work on it like when I steel a car and when I get out I have to steel it again to get in or sale it which is very annoying,

***oh and this one when zois talk sometimes I don’t even know if I can call it sometimes

they start cheering and clapping which looks immature and dumb for adult zois so i wud gladly appreciate if u wud take you’re time to work on it.

Forgive me 4 saying too much but it wud be popular if u add height sliders and more…especially adding the option to add a different hair in each wear…thank u.
