Drink Mixing guide - Skill progression & money notes

:cup_with_straw: Drink Mixing – Skill progression & money notes (Level 0 → Level 10)

While building up my Business, I took a closer look at Drink Mixing and wrote everything down for future reference — so I’m sharing my notes here in case it helps others decide whether the skill is worth it.

Settings: 96-minute day
Action duration: Mixing 1 drink ≈ 8 min (applies to juices, cocktails, and jugs)

:white_check_mark: Quick Summary

  • No major unlocks besides additional recipes; quality improves with level (from Level 8 onward, Excellent/Perfect happens noticeably more often).

  • Leveling is very “flat”: you basically repeat the same 8-minute action ~185–190 times to reach Level 10.

  • Money-making: Drink Mixing is not very lucrative compared to Cooking (and even Baking), mainly because cocktails are single-serve only (no 8-portion batch), so the time per unit is high.

  • Post-March update: Cocktails can now be sold in a Business / Shop (previously not possible).

:stopwatch: Leveling speed (my run)

Level-up Mixes Time to level up
Level 0 → 1 1 ~0h08m
Level 1 → 2 17 ~2h15m
Level 2 → 3 20 ~2h40m
Level 3 → 4 18 ~2h25m
Level 4 → 5 24 ~3h10m
Level 5 → 6 22 ~2h55m
Level 6 → 7 22 ~2h55m
Level 7 → 8 19 ~2h30m
Level 8 → 9 26 ~3h25m
Level 9 → 10 17 ~2h15m

Total (pure mixing time): ~24h 40m in-game
Total mixes: 186

:tropical_drink: Utility effects

  • Drink consumption: ~20 min, refills about ¼ of the Hunger gauge

  • Mood effect (cocktails + fruit drinks): +1 Curious for 1 hour (“Curiosity Kicks in”)

:1234: Value pattern (base values are consistent)

Ignoring Bad, all regular Drink Mixing recipes in this dataset follow a clean quality ladder:

  • Medium = M

  • Good = 2xM

  • Excellent = 3xM

  • Perfect = 4xM

Different drinks have different M values, but the multipliers stay consistent. The multipliers have exactly the same logic as for baked and cooked goods.

:money_bag: Base values vs Business selling (post-March)

A) Juices (Single) – Crafting cost: 5

Applies to: Strawberry (L0), Carrot (L0), Mango (L0), Green Juice (L1), Mixed Berry (L1)

Base values (Inventory/Build Mode):

  • Medium 4, Good 8, Excellent 12, Perfect 16

Business sell (per unit):

  • 3★ shop: Medium 14, Good 28, Excellent 43, Perfect 57

  • 4★ shop: Medium 15, Good 30, Excellent 45, Perfect 60

:right_arrow: Business multiplier vs base (juice) in these examples is roughly ~3.5× to ~3.75× depending on ★ and quality.

B) Juice Jug (8 glasses) – Crafting cost: 40

Juice jug values are simply 8× the single juice, and you sell per glass (same per-glass prices as single juice).
So the Business multiplier stays the same — you just batch-craft 8 servings.

:cocktail_glass: Cocktails (Single) – Base values + Business examples

Group 1: Crafting cost 9 (single)

Lovely Glow (L0), Ruby Sunset (L1), Orange Bloom (L1), Lime Breeze (L2), Aqua Wave (L2), Dark Moment (L3)

Base values (Inventory/Build Mode):

  • Medium 6, Good 12, Excellent 18, Perfect 24

Business examples (4★):

  • Medium 22, Good 45, Excellent 68, Perfect 91

:right_arrow: Business multiplier vs base (cocktails, cost 9 group) is roughly ≈ ~3.7×–3.8× (4★ examples).

Group 2: Crafting cost 13 (single)

Coco Pine (L3), Peach Sparkle (L4), Sweet Melon (L4), Blue Sands (L5)

Base values (Inventory/Build Mode):

  • Medium 8, Good 16, Excellent 24, Perfect 32

Business examples (4★):

  • Medium 30, Good 60, Excellent 91, Perfect 121

:right_arrow: Business multiplier vs base (cocktails, cost 13 group) is roughly ≈ ~3.75×–3.8× (4★ examples).

:money_with_wings: Profit comparison (4★ shop) — sorted by profit per mix (descending)

Mixing time: ~8 min per mix • Profit = sell − craft cost (selling time not included)

A) Single-serve (1 mix = 1 sale)

Item Quality Craft cost Sell (4★) Profit per mix
Cocktail (cost 13 group) Perfect 13 121 108
Cocktail (cost 9 group) Perfect 9 91 82
Cocktail (cost 13 group) Excellent 13 91 78
Cocktail (cost 9 group) Excellent 9 68 59
Juice (single, cost 5) Perfect 5 60 55
Juice (single, cost 5) Excellent 5 45 40

B) Juice Jug (1 mix = 8 sales)

(Assuming you manage to sell all 8 glasses.)

Jug quality Craft cost Sell per glass (4★) Total revenue (×8) Profit per mix
Perfect 40 60 480 440
Excellent 40 45 360 320

Takeaway: Cocktails beat single juices on profit per mix, but jugs win if you can reliably sell all 8 glasses (more selling overhead/stand space etc.).

:brain: Money-making perspective (honest take)

Drink Mixing is weak for pure money:

  • Cocktails are single-serve only, so you spend 8 min per unit. Even at Perfect quality, the income per time doesn’t compete with Cooking, and Baking is usually still better.

  • Juices can be batched via jug (8 glasses), but they’re also the cheapest per serving. The batch helps, but overall it still doesn’t compete with 8-portion cooking dishes or baked goods as a money engine.

  • The Business boost is real, but it’s more in the ~3.5×–3.8× range vs base value (not the 6×–10× style jump observed for whole cakes/pies).

:white_check_mark: Practical recommendations

  • Fast leveling: just mix the cheapest/most convenient drink; action time is always ~8 min.

  • If you want any profit: selling via Business matters a lot; inventory selling isn’t worth it.

  • Best “value per mix action” inside this skill: juice jugs (batch), but only if you can reliably sell all 8 glasses or if the current bug is fixed and we are able to sell whole jugs at once again.

Thank you so much for yet another amazing skill guide :folded_hands: I’ve been thinking about having one of my zois use this skill as shop owner. Now I can do it so much easier
