I want to ask why the cost of bouquets made with flowers grown by Zoi is the same as the cost of the restock option? A bouquet costs 3 meows, a basket costs 5 meows in both cases. I think it defeats the purpose of growing your own flowers for sale.
We’ve already spent money on seeds and labor to grow the flowers. I think assembling the arrangement should be free.
I agree with you and I’m shocked that it isn’t that way! I assumed that growing your own flowers would not only reduce the cost of creating the bouquets, but would raise the value of the finished product if the flowers were high quality freshly-grown flowers from the shop owner’s own garden.
Exactly! I am also shocked that this is not the case. And I like your addition that freshly-grown flowers should cost more.

@LeeLoo I follow your logic in the sense of: “What are we actually paying the 3 or 5 Mew for if we bring our own flowers?”
But you do actually save money if you craft bouquets/baskets with flowers you grew yourself. The reason is: if you don’t own the flowers, the game charges the current flower price (Pocket Market price) on top of the crafting fee (the 3 or 5 Mew).
Here’s the math with Rose Flower Baskets as an example:
A plot harvest gives about 9–12 flowers. Since a Rose Basket needs 4 roses, one harvest usually covers 2 baskets — and if you hit the high end (12 flowers), you can even make 3 baskets from a single harvest.

1 rose seed costs 4 Mew

Crafting cost is 5 Mew per basket
So if you grow the roses yourself, the cost for 2 baskets is basically:
2 × 5 Mew (crafting) + 4 Mew (seed) = 14 Mew total
→ that’s 7 Mew per basket (ignoring time).
Now comparing that to crafting the same baskets when you don’t own roses - then the crafting station charges you the flower price on top:

Rose price at Pocket Market is 6 Mew per flower (Farmer Store is even 8 Mew, which is odd…)

Two baskets need 8 roses total
So you pay:
2 × 5 Mew (crafting) + 8 × 6 Mew (flowers) = 58 Mew total
→ 29 Mew per basket
So growing your own roses saves about 22 Mew per basket in this example. For cheaper flowers the savings are smaller, but the logic is the same: owning the flowers prevents the extra “buy price” from being charged during crafting.
Of course, if you factor in the 3-day grow time, the money saved feels pretty small relative to the time investment…
@Starwing This actually surprised me as well: flowers are basically the only harvestables that don’t have quality tiers or special variants like fruits/vegetables do. There also seems to be no benefit from using the Jewel Watering Can on them. I expected special flowers (or higher-value arrangements / unique effects), but that doesn’t seem to exist right now — which is a bit disappointing…
That’s not what I’m talking about. I don’t buy flowers from Pocket Market; I can make bouquets right on the table in my own flower shop, and it costs 3-5 meows. They don’t charge for the flowers themselves, which I don’t have.
@LeeLoo That’s exactly what I mean. I also don’t buy them from pocket market. But in the moment when you start crafting the mentioned flower price - which is the same as if you would buy it from pocket market - is charged. Not only the 3 or 5 Mew is charged but the flower price on top.
The only difference is that it is not shown as cost before you start crafting directly in the table menu. But you should see the charge for flowers you don’t have directly above your Zois head in red numbers which are deducted from your budget. I can take a screenshot later when in game.
The difference between crafting in business and at home is that in business it does not force you to buy the flowers beforehand. Probably to avoid overhead as also your employees might craft flower arrangements and you cannot give the flowers to them in a meaningful way at the moment. While when crafting at home the game forces you to have the flowers in your inventory, so you need to buy them. That is how I noticed that the price charged for the flowers above the Zois head in business is exactly the same which you would pay at pocket market when you make the arrangements at home.
Does this not happen in your game?

I used up all the roses Zois had in her bag to check how much money would be debited for the basket of roses.
It worked out just like you said. They debited 29 meows, as if I’d bought the flowers at a thrift store.
