The babies probably don’t want to grow up.

Yes, this bug happened at the same time as the Need freeze bug (which has been fixed in latest hotfix)."
It’s the last hurdle to be fixed before I can resume my Dowon family save.

I hope it’s fixed soon as well !

Hello @Chickenwingjr, I’ve merged your post into this thread since it relates to the same issue. Thanks!

I encountered the same aging error. Babies in unmanaged households stopped growing up for me. I have to go into the households and age up the babies with cake ((

  • Details: The problem of automation of growing up. Maybe it was before because I had gameplay for one character where he had a long teenage growth period, but that’s not important. On top of all that, I also have some custom-created zoi living in the neighborhood who exist independently; as it turns out, they get stuck at a specific age just like NPCs do—they are unable to age up on their own. I ended up having to spend an entire hour manually forcing them to age up, all set to the epic soundtrack from Dark Souls.

Hello @Nergalisimus, I’ve merged your post into this thread since it relates to the same issue. Thanks!

I have the same problem, I play in Cahaya and the other families in the houses don’t get older. The fix of switching there before 0 o’clock and waiting for the Zois to age works, but that can’t be the point of it all. I actually don’t understand why nothing has been done about this problem for two patches. Very disappointing.

Still happening as of 2026.05.20

Most kids in Bliss bay have not aged from the group they started at.
Adolescents are still that and child/toddlers too. It’s spreading as my game progress, more and more unplayed families reach max age in their groud and are not aging.

Had to start a temporary game and switch myself immortal for now.
I hope this gets resolved soon.

I have seen this issue as well a teen girl fell in love with a teen boy and waited 2 weeks for him to grow up since they met each other both teens when she just grew into a teen … I have a feeling this has to do with the NEW addition to ONLY being able to age up with a cake instead of auto-age since the girl is now an adult and that boy is still a teenager and she is ready to be an old person that was her childhood sweetheart and since she can’t move him in as a teen even though she lives alone or as a young adult can’t move him in he was never able to stuff his face with a cake and refused to grow up this has to be a bug with the silly cakes that were added for some god awful reason. A choice is better a cake OR auto-grow up if you don’t get a cake they should auto-grow up at midnight as usual and this wouldn’t be a thing.

I have the same problem. My NPC families kept having babies until their house was completely maxed out on how many occupants could live in them. Once all the babies were born, they stayed that way for days. I checked to see if they had birthdays coming up and they were all at a point where they should have their birthdays at midnight. Some were stuck at infant and some stuck at toddler stages. I bought a cake, went to each house, placed candles on it and took each baby that was aging to a child and helped them blow out the candles. Then went to the cribs and aged up the infants. My town’s school has gained about 10 new students lol

I’ve become somewhat of a baby whisperer, going from home to home late at night and helping them age up so that the parents can sleep.

My current Zoi doesn’t live with her relatives anymore so her family has become NPCs and the issue is affecting them as well. It’s to the point where my Zoi is now an adult and is still in contact with her 3rd great grandparents! They won’t age up to the spirit world. However, the original family I started with ended up passing away once I moved them out of the town. But everyone else who’s still in town are immortal ancestors.

This is how it should be.

Either do it with a cake or it happens at midnight like before. No need to change this.
I do not want to throw a party every time one of my 8 zoi is ready (and everyone else in town as well for that matter).
Sometimes I do, other I dont/dont care. Let them age normally again.

It’s been a long lasting bug now and I’m sad to say, I’m losing my patience over this.
Please fix it A.S.A.P, three weeks for a game critical bug? Come on !

Yeah its been a few weeks with nothing about age but talk about ps5 and next major update the age is what stopping me from playing let alone zois disappearing or i say getting silently kidnapped by a yandere XD.

I have no idea how to age up some NPC rando but the problem remains as you say only the main family is aging and not NPCs so what is the point of having a separate enable aging for other people other than playable family if they never age up the second they leave the family home or worse an NPC

This is still happening as of Patch 0.8.6 – 2026.05.28.

That makes this bug a month old now. My serious games are on hold since then.
Any ETA on this one? It’s kind of annoying… In fact nevermind, it’s super annoying.

Yeah, me too. I had hoped, but nothing for 3 patches. Too bad, because it’s really annoying. And no matter what you try, new game, different city, leaving aging on standard or customizing it, same result—the Sims don’t age into the new life stage.

Yeah all these patches and not once said anything about age dispite now nearly a month now I doubt the school update will fix it either at this rate or they holding out for 9.0 to fix it but bearly played 8.0 off these bugs from aging to disappearing as it’s just game breaking to me . I be disappointed if these two major bugs carry on to 9.0

Hi all, exact same issue here. The amount of households full of last-day newborns, toddlers, and children is very high. I’ve not noticed it as much with adult zois. I have one zoi who’s had a couple of children via unhoused townies so I’ll check out if they age up, but like you all I’m house-hopping heaps to age up these kids en masse.

Let’s hope we get a fix soon!

I’ve had the same issue. I play multiple families. I was playing one family and when the toddler was 1 day before ageing up, I switched to another family. When I came back to the original family after 1 in-game week, the toddler had not aged up and was showing as 0 days to ageing up.

:round_pushpin: Any non-played houshehold member will not go to next age group after reaching maximum duration of that Zoi’s current age group. This is reported constantly on Discord by all the players and I’d say its pretty critical, because it breaks the simulation and other households are stuck in time. Aging works for currently played household and NPC’s in town.
