My aging settings are all activated but townies seem to get stuck at the last day of their current life stage and don’t progress into the next one unless I manually age them. This never happened until the latest update

Unfortunately, I have the same issue. It started after the update 0.8.0
Hey there, welcome to the inZOI forum!
Can both of you please check if the settings regarding aging up for non-player zois is turned on or off? This didn’t affect NPC townies before v0.8.0, but I’m not sure if that’s still the case.
I have aging enabled for non-playable families and the playable family.
My Zoe’s first love is a teenager. The problem is that he remained a teenager while she will become an adult in a few days.
Am also having this too no one is aging up dispite it enabled in settings again am a teen while everyone else is still a child way past 10 days there’s even babies from NPC family’s at the start still babies the martins for example has a child and a baby that are still that age group also everyone age bar is full but refuses to age up unless I make them a cake or play as that famliy.
Don’t use mods
Has everyone got some anti age potion or something XD
This is happening to me as well. Both aging settings are activated. Zois do advance in their life stage but get stuck at 0 days left to grow up. Its very annoying as it ruins story progression in the city. I cant play until the bug is patched because my zois are related to other households and its annoying to have to micromanage other households to age everybody at the right time. I also dont have any mods (the are not activated in my settings
And the weird thing is that zois that don’t live in the city are aging up, It only effected the ones with a house.
at least by me
Same here. I was delighted with the progress the game had made (in fact, I hadn’t played it for nearly a year and only started playing again a few days before patch 0.80).
This is the second time in a short space of time that I’ve encountered the two biggest bugs that seem to be occurring with the latest patch.
The NPCs, both residents and non-residents. I’ve also noticed this with random non-resident townies who go to the school where my Zoi became a young adult, whilst they remain teenagers. That Zois don’t age and move on to the next life stage (their counter is stuck at 0 and they don’t progress).
And the bug where needs get stuck and don’t decrease. I’ve experienced that too. In the end, even though I was really enjoying the gameplay, I suppose I’ll stop playing for a while until they fix it.
Yeah totally understandable. I personally still enjoy playing the game but it is annoying.
I hope they can fix it soon
I have a question for those of you who are experiencing this bug. Have you set the new options for the different life stages to be longer?
As I mentioned, I hadn’t played in almost a year, and when I saw those options, I was thrilled (I could finally choose how long the Zois would live). So I set it so that the young adult and adult stages would last four times longer, while I set the other stages to last twice as many days as the default setting (x1).
I haven’t tried playing with the default value (x1), so my question is: do those of you who play with the default values experience this bug?
I also have this problem. I even had to put my main game aside because of it.
I play exclusively with the default lifetime settings, and aging is enabled for everyone. Here’s what I observe:
If you go to a household where some Zois have not aged for a long time and stay there until the day change (00:00 AM), exactly at midnight, all the Zois who couldn’t age up will finally do so.
It seems the issue is related to the updated simulation mechanics. However, even with the simulation distance set to maximum, the problem still occurs.
And yes, from what I’ve observed, Zois who don’t live in the city age up without any problems.
Interesting. So basically, to temporarily fix this error, the only way is to go house by house every day with zois residents before midnight, wait for them to age up, and return to the main zois family that you play with?
Regarding non-resident zois, I’ve noticed that townies who go to school or high school don’t age either. In one playthrough, the zoi I was playing with became a young adult while all their acquaintances and friends stayed in their teens forever. What I don’t know is whether they were resident zois in other worlds (something I’m not even sure is possible—whether resident zois from other worlds can appear in the world where you play with your zoi), since so far I’ve always played in Bliss Bay.
I know that in one of my saves, my Zoi had a friend at school. They studied together, and at some point that friend definitely became older. That Zoi definitely doesn’t live in the city (I mean she doesn’t have a house there).
This happened in Cahaya, but I didn’t do any experiments because I fell into the homeless Zoi bug. It was not fully critical for me at the start, but over time there are so many of them in my game that it’s become almost impossible to play.
At the same time, in my main save, I’m playing a family line with relatives living in the city. And even though I can age them up by visiting them or temporarily switching to their household around the day change, I’m not ready to constantly track every single birthday across the entire game map. So I honestly don’t know what to do in this situation…
This issue really ruins the gameplay experience. Yes, there is a workaround, but it doesn’t work for everyone.
I play with the default lifetime settings and aging is enabled for everyone
Has aging been fixed with the hotfix or is it still broken as this alone stops me from playing the game as it just breaking the experience while everyone in town does not grow up part form only your family
Got a bit excited as saw the update but did not mention anything about aging fix hopefully it gets fixed soon.
Not gonna lie who been giving out anti age potions like seriously XD
To answer your question…No they haven’t fixed it

Hey there, thank you for reporting this bug. Unfortunately, it’s affected numerous players lately. I hope there’s a fix coming soon ![]()
To the team: This is the main thread for the bug. You might want to merge it: Townies don’t age up anymore ![]()
