Having this same issue. Here’s my specs:

AMD Radeon RX580 - Tried 22.8 version of driver and newest 26.1 ver with no luck.

Windows 11 25H2

Had no issues with the game prior aside from a couple small glitches and the occasional crash.

Issue details: When opening build mode, the game actively sits on the loading screen and continues to display the graphics but will not load even after 30+ minutes of waiting. When playing a household, I can open the build mode and make edits no problem.

I’ve just tested the issue you reported and can confirm that build mode (loaded from menu) does not work at all. I can access it without any issues when being in a normal save file (within seconds), but the one in the main menu does not load. There’s no crash, simply no progress. You have to force-close the game (via task manager), otherwise it will load forever.

My setup:

  • Game Version: latest (v0.8.2)
  • Platform: Steam windows
  • Mods: removed (a long time ago)
  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System: Win11 Home; Alienware m18 R2; Intel Core i7-14700HX; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070; RAM 32GB; DirectX 12 Ultimate

→ I moved this report to the Bug Reports section, because with 3 individual setups experiencing this, it is officially a bug.

Both screenshots were taken during the infinite loading screen, showing that it isn’t a setup issue, because the setup is clearly able to handle the loading itself. After 12 minutes of waiting, no spikes had happened at all.

Can someone tell me how long does it normally take to fix a bug like this?

mine is like that too, I can only enter construction mode just in simulation mode

me too, my anxiety kicked in, what relaxes me is building and I’m not able to do it

mine is like that too, but I don’t want to build in the city because there’s no large land, only in build mode

Mine too, and there’s one detail—I don’t have access to my buildings anymore because they won’t load, it just stays on the loading screen

I thought there would be a small change in this small update but there wasn’t

Same here. Since the update, it took a couple of days before it worked again and now after every hotfix it won’t load :sleepy_face:

We’re experiencing a problem with our characters in medium graphics settings, could you please help us with this? Many fix patches are coming out, why aren’t we? It seems we’re not being seen.
