Build Mode stops responding / cannot click objects after a few seconds

  • Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start game and load save.
    2.Enter Build Mode.
    3.Try to place or edit furniture/walls.
    4.After a few seconds, Build Mode stops responding to clicks.

  • Details:
    :round_pushpin: Issue Start Date: 29 April year 2026 Error Message: None appears

Description of the problem: Every time I try to add or edit furniture and walls in Build Mode, it stops working after a few seconds. After that, I can no longer click on any furniture or walls at all.

I have already tried disabling mods, restarting the game, and even testing a new save, but the same issue keeps happening every time.

Could you please help me with this? It seems like it might be a bug in the game.

We’re sincerely sorry for the inconvenience. To help us investigate further, could you please send us your save file?

Please refer to the post below on how to send your and please make sure that you send in the whole folder containing the save file, not the individual save file itself. You can simply compress the folder that contains your save file and send it to us.

We’ve created a Zendesk ticket so you can send your save file to our team privately. You should have received an email from us, but if you haven’t, please try Option 3.

Option 3: Submit via our Support Center

If you are replying to a thread where the same issue has already been reported and prefer a more private option, please create a ticket through our Support Center.

Me too! Mine wasn’t working at all on my MacBook after the latest update. I am hoping they fix this soon.

Ive been having the same exact issue for 4 days. Building is my favorite aspect and right now I have to completely avoid build mode because nothing will click or edit, its a bummer because I’ve been looking forward to playing this since it came out, and from the day I bought it ( 4 days ago) I’ve had nothing but issues with build mode. not a good first impression.

I have been having this issue since the update on April 29th. I play on NVIDIA Geforce Now dont know if that’s a contributing factor? :smiling_face_with_tear: I love building, so hope this gets fixed asap xo

To all of the newer post creators (after the AR_Luna reply), do you happen to have any affected save files at hand? If so, please share them with the team like mentioned in the official post here:

It’s fixed now. Not sure if it was yesterday’s update, or if it was because I deleted my mods folder.

Hi there, I am unable to find a way to share save files as I play on Nvidia GeForce NOW. I also dont have any mods because of this, and the issue is still happening despite the recent hotfix. Is this still being investigated?

Yes, this issue is still being investigated. The biggest and most definite indicator for this is always a tag with the red background. These can only be added by the team :smiley:
