From my experience on the Discord server, everybody has different opinions about how long each life stage should last. I believe the way to satisfy everybody is to allow us to adjust the length of age stages in the in-game Settings under either Gameplay or Simulation.
I picture it working as sliders for each individual age stage that range from 1-100.

I fully support this. Everyone has their own preferences.
Also make sure that you code those life stages at prorata.
That means whatever changes we make to the life stages, is auto-adjusted to pre-made families so they maintain the starting ages they are meant to have, and also older games we play that would auto adjust.

When I reload my save, Bob becomes 6 days into Young adult (same progress % in the progression bar !)

I for one was much more comfortable with the old life stages (pre-0.20). They felt more natural and instilled a sense of urgency in getting your life together early on… That is to say if you wanted to get married as soon as you entered the young adult phase, you needed to get moving ! Days go fast !!
I tried giving the new life stages a chance. But it takes 40 days now to reach young adult… Mostly because of Teenager lasting 15 days (!!!), but also the Newborn + Toddler stages lasting 9 days combined (which is too long as well). Now it might not be so bad, especially with the 30 days of young adult, but this means the other stages (Adult, Middle-Aged, and Senior) lasting each 10 days respectively, with most Seniors dying upon reaching the stages or lasting 2-3 days at most.
Fact is, everyone has their own preferences. And having control over those age stage would be perfect.
Thank you for considering this Idea. It is very popular, and there’s also a mod made by a fellow player that switches back the life stages to pre-0.20 numbers and it has over 2.500 downloads. Speaks volume !

Also a setting to change the progression of age and relationships when you are in a different town or city! I feel like its a bit unrealistic for it to be static, but I think some people like it this way so an option is nice
It would definitely be good to be able to adjust the length of a Zoi’s age-up times. So instead of a 7 day period for a young adult, you could adjust a slider that allowed the Zoi to exist for “X” amount of days before aging up.
Agreed. Often i prefer infants, kids etc.. To grow up quicker while adults or young adults live longer as they can actually get jobs etc.. So being able to adjust each one to my liking would help. There current add longer days doesn’t really help as it just means long days but you still need the same days to progress so overall useless in my mind. Disable is fine for now, but hopefully they add this.

Ehh, why not 1-500 or 1,000, like The Sims?
I think it would be really interesting to add an option to choose the lifespan of our Zoïs (short, normal, long).
Currently, they age quite quickly and sometimes we don’t have time to fully explore their story, develop their relationships, skills, or life goals before they move to the next life stage.
Being able to adjust longevity would give more freedom in gameplay: some prefer a fast and dynamic pace, others like to take their time, build deeper narrative arcs, or evolve multiple generations.
This setting would make the gameplay more flexible and allow everyone to adapt Inzoi to their own playstyle.

It’s really infuriating as they said it would be in this one like a month and a half ago, that’s why ppl stopped complaining about it… Well, back to complaining I guess, lol !

I am glad to have this setting, but i was sort of hoping to just type my own in. I like all of my zois to experience all of the seasons at least once. The longest I can get my newborn to live is 12 days which is 2 seasons as seen on the calendar below.
12 days = 2 weeks. My zois only get to suffer-I-I mean only get to enjoy the delightful midnight cries of a new born for 1 week and 5 days, how unsettling! I am aware that I might be a minority here, but I would like the ability to input how long I’d like a zoi to stay their age so I can set my families up to experience all 4 seasons before they age up. You can keep the presets, just also allow me to input a time frame.
I think one “way” to do that is turn off aging and then let them age with the birthday cake when you want them to age. I never tested it myself, but I read that that is an option. But I agree that it should be included in a more intuitive way
Yeah I might have to do that. I had to do it with sims 4, but I figured if they were willing to just add it as a feature I wouldn’t have to document everyone in the homes birthday and make sure they aged up accordingly with the desired age gap. So I figured I’d ask if they could just make it a feature, you know?
Absolutely, that’s why I agreed with you. It just does not feel natural if you have to “force” the next stage if you just prefer to have a decently long life span in that life section. So yes, totally agree
Oddly enough I am surprised anyone agreed, most ppl don’t like newborn/toddler stages so i assumed most ppl would not like the idea since most want to skip those life stages. lol
I didn’t have a family with a toddler yet in this game, but in Sims 3 per example, I liked taking my time with taking care of the toddler, letting it learn things and so on. It felt more natural than having a toddler for like 3-4 days and BOOM child

Are you serious? I’ve already written about this before here Please add a more precise age adjustment for each stage of Zoi's life. , but for some reason it was ignored. Now the topic is popular again, although I have already written everything.
