With update 0.8.0, the developers have added indicators for the number of days of age. But there is no exact adjustment: you can adjust the age in increments of x2 or /2. I would like to see a more precise age adjustment in increments of +1 and -1 days of life. I want to make life at the adult Zoi stage not 10 days or 20 days, but for example 13 or 16 days. You can do this using the horizontal slider.
Leaving a comment so it will also move up the list again. I agree with more precise adjustments. What we have now, is a start, but it would need some polishing
You can do this with mods.
Not everything can be fine tuned. Developers prioritize bugs. Wouldn’t it be better to focus on suggestions that aren’t in the game instead? Unfortunately i disagree with this suggestion.
Bugs always have a priority, I agree. It is still a wishlist though and no one said wishlists should be prioritized over bug fixes. Otherwise we can never really make wishes until all the bugs are gone, which would also be counterproductive. As for mods, as of at the moment, I personally only prefer cosmetic mods, since the game is unstable enough as is. But it is completely fine to disagree on this
Edit: I think you edited your post while I was typing. But again, I think it is also up to the devs on which wishes they can prioritize and are easily doable. There is no exact ranking on which wishes are more important and which aren’t. In this case, the tweak might not be too difficult since the system is already there, but I ain’t no programming expert.
With the implementation of the limited age group control, all of the game infrastructure is ready for it, now that we can set how fast each group goes.
Basically when we set the aging to 0.5x or 2x it modifies the “GameUserSettings.ini” file for the game, by adding a line for each age group. 0.5x becomes 0.500000, 2x becomes 2.000000. Then the game loads up these values for when we play.
So what I am asking for is that, let the player enter a number of days and calculate the value to put into the “GameUserSettings.ini” file using this formula :
Game base Value (#days) ÷ Player Input (#days) = Value to put in the .ini file.
The only thing the dev team needs to change is to round to closest integer instead of next integer (or compare Player Input to resulting calculation from the new .ini file value and if it does not match, substract one day)… Either is easy to code.
This would allow players to put anything they want as far as duration, even odd numbers like say 28 days for Young Adult and 17 for Adult if they want.
I know as well as you do that the game works somehow. You don’t need to do this with mods, everything is already in the game, you just need to finish it in a human way. One person can fix it all in one day.
Yes, but why exactly do that? When you can do it all in the game: add scrollers in increments of 1 unit + instead of multiplying, use the values of the days. The development team can fix this in one day, and the result will be huge.
Adjusting the current age range is perfectly adequate. There’s no need to try to adjust it further. Much more important proposals that are not included in the plan should be prioritized.
huh, not sure how I missed this post. I do try to search for topics before posting new ones, then depending on context will decide if its similar or not. Must have not used the right keywords. I’m responding here so this post gets bumped, and not the one I opened. Maybe they can merge it I wonder.
I absolutely agree. The purpose on this platform is not just about “bug fix requests” anyway. The game is still in development, and they value our experiences, opinions, and requests for things we find missing or wish were included, and they see us as instrumental in the game’s development. A suggestion like “the game would be better if it had this” is exactly what they want. Because their goal is also to develop the game in line with its purpose, gain many more players, and make existing players enjoy it even more. That’s why there’s no priority order. Suggestions, bugs, questions, technical support — they all have equal importance.
I agree, it would be really important for me to be able to set the exact number of days for each age phase.
I’m a bit fixated on giving my Zois a birth year, taking into account the various ages, and I can’t do it with the current settings.
A mod would work for me too, as long as it works
, I tried one but it doesn’t work.
I agree with wanting to be able to set the exact number of days for each life stage. I find the whole aging system confusing as well as how the day length affects it.
Im not sure if this is the place to vent about this or not but ‘precise age adjustments’ seemed right for this particular peeve.
I noticed today when playing with my Zoi who’s reached that older stage, one day to go before she’s a senior and i realised her face was super wrinkled, her chin saggy and cheeks speckled etc etc but her body still perfect.
-I would really love my Zoi to reflect their age a little more realistically, not just stooping as a senior but also their body should change in ways id rather not go into…for the sake of SOME realism since we see them undressed it should look more age appropriate so to speak. Maybe im the only one that would want this ![]()
