The crash seems to be happening in Unreal Engine’s D3D12/rendering side, with a LowLevelFatalError related to D3D12CommandList and E_INVALIDARG. Your RAM and VRAM do not appear to be maxed out when it happens, so I would treat this more like a DirectX 12 / AMD driver / shader cache / rendering stability issue.
Things I would try, in this order:
Verify the game files through Steam.
Remove all mods and Canvas/downloaded content temporarily, just to test.
Clear the game shader cache and AMD shader cache, then restart the PC.
In AMD Adrenalin, disable extra features such as Anti-Lag, Enhanced Sync, Radeon Boost, overlay/recording, etc.
Try disabling Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows, then restart.
Cap the game to 60 FPS and lower heavy graphics settings temporarily, especially textures, shadows, reflections, crowd/object density.
If the crashes started after the latest AMD driver, try a clean reinstall of the driver, or test one previous stable driver version.
I think mine is different though because I don’t crash it just stay on a black screen forever. Previously my post was about Curse forge not working at all just no load but now after the update it load to the black screen and never shows anything no matter how long I wait.
Mine is exact same one as yours, before the curseforge button would be clicked and nothing would happen, now it loads but it stays in a black screen forever. It does not crash. Very frustrating. I tried cleaning all mods, cache, reinstalling, verifying files, updating my driver, and pretty much anything I could try. I will send back my data when I get home and see if they can help us cause I think our problem is really different.
Hey so I found a fix basically revert your game to game version from April 10th and load up go into curseforge and delete the mods and then do the updated version after. MY curseforge loaded and I redownloaded my mods
Same issue here. I used to crash in-game because I had too many mods installed, they managed to finally fix that like 2 or 3 months ago and I had over 1,000 mods installed and I could STILL open the curseforge mod-hub in game with no problems at all, no crashes, no long loading, I could update easily everything and download even more daily..
Now, when clicking “Curseforge”, I get the loading bar and then it just crashes (game closes) without an error message. I was so happy they finally fixed the crash but now it’s back.
I thought it might be the amount of mods I have installed so I got rid of a lot of mods and it still crashes.. but also seeing others with the same problem with only 10+ mods installed shows me it’s not me.
Please fix this! I love mods and I don’t wanna play without them..
If it helps the team out this problem listed below (this is farther up in the thread) ONLY started after the june update me and @Isza did the exact same thing and are experiencing the exact same crash specifically when going into curseforge and even downloading 1 mod will crash the game.
Thank you so much! Your method helped me, I had tried everything before that and nothing worked. I rolled back to the May 28 version. I deleted all the mods there and cleared the cache. Downloaded the June 19 version again and everything worked, downloaded all my mods back!
That won’t work in my case. The system accidentally wiped out all my mods, so my mod folder is totally empty now. Rolling back the version doesn’t fix anything.
Its still there on the curseforge side I had a brand new doc folder and when I rolled back and went into curseforge section still had the subscription there
ive had the sam eproblem since the hotfix. 2 days ago curse was fine, yesterday i crashed due to memory everytime i open up curse. This left me thinking it was my pc, but with enough vram and ram being 48gb is wasn’t. The vram spikes when curse opens and causing the game to crash. Iv’e tried validating files, changing vram and ram, uninstall and reinstall. Ever since this happened i lost all my 600+ mods. The only thing i could do is load the earlier version on steam and manually update my mods 1 by one until i got them back in folder. This needs to be taken seriously and fixed fast. I’m 5 hours down so far and almost halfway yay. If you have this problem, do not try to fix it its not your pc, its the game. You’ll lose your mods in the process.
Yes, i have done everything by the books, and everything in the books to fix or revert this. I spent 4 hours trying to fix it before i got left with the accpetance thats its the game, not my pc.
i rolled back to an older version, then update them all manually and they’ll pop up again and you can copy them into a safe folder when your done, update the game and put them back in(: But it does take LONG! one update pr mod manually takes me 1 minute, and i’m 7 hours in..
I have tried the roll back version 3 weeks ago when the bug started and did not solve to me. Again, I think te bug where the button wouldn’t work and now the screen stays black is different from the one where it started happening only now with the new update where people click and the game crashes. I hope inzoi team can fix both and the fact that the discussion is being merged won’t make them dismiss our bug that has no solution for almost a month now.
Yes I keep saying our issues aren’t the same and stem from a completely different issue like we can’t even give a crash report because we’re experiencing different issue but after the update it just keep merging with other players with a totally different bug but hopefully since there issue seems bigger and plaguing more player they’ll look into our issue as well. I’m starving for my mods to be updated and hoarding more
I have the same problem, I thought I fixed it by rolling back to an old version, then I deleted all mods, updated to the latest version of the game again, everything worked, then I downloaded all the skins I had and again Curse started crashing the game… I spent 2 days on this without turning off my computer, my head is already pounding The game itself works with mods.
For some reason, this fix isn’t working. I think it’s because of me deleting one mod; then all my mods disappeared previously. I tried reverting my game multiple times, but my mods aren’t there because of that, and I can’t get them back .

Details: Please share the date, error message, or screenshots/videos for issue verification. : the game launches normally and I can access the Mods Management tab without any issues. However, when I select Browse CurseForge, the CurseForge browser begins loading but remains stuck on the loading screen for approximately five minutes with no progress. After that, the game suddenly closes to desktop without displaying any error message, crash report, or warning.
