Poll: What is your "Unpopular" InZoi Opinion?

Let’s keep it friendly! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

What’s your unpopular inZOI opinion as a citizen of the internet?

Not something you think everyone agrees with, but something that makes you go:

“I know I’m in the minority, but…”

I’ll start:

I genuinely think inZOI’s Live Mode is already very, very good.

A lot of discussions focus on what Live Mode is missing, how it lacks soul, or how it needs massive changes before it becomes engaging, but honestly, that has never been my experience. Even after spending over 1,000 hours with the game, Live Mode has always been one of its strongest areas for me.

Could it use more depth? Maybe. Every life sim can benefit from more careers, more things to do, deeper memory systems and better relationships, more world events, more consequences etc. But that’s very different from saying the mode lacks soul or isn’t fun, like these things we already have… and in early access!!

For me, inZOI already succeeds at creating beautiful moments between Zois, letting stories emerge naturally, and making the world feel nice to spend time in. It was never lacking to start with

So that’s my “unpopular” netizen opinion.

What’s yours?

  • Smart Zoi as it is now is the best part of inZoi
  • I rarely use Smart Zoi, if ever
  • Build Mode (as is) is my favorite feature
  • Live Mode is already great
  • The game needs more challenge
  • The game needs more freedom

I’m already happy with everything in the game too. The existing bugs will definitely be fixed, intermediate age stages will be added over time, emotions will be worked on — all of this is already in the plans. And even in its current state, the game is wonderful, it just needs to be “polished.”

Personally (I’ve written about this many times), I really lack photo mode capabilities. Give players the ability to depict any scene and emotion — and basically it won’t matter whether there’s such functionality in the built-in mode.

InZOI is unlikely to plan to become a simulator of fighting alien monsters on a planet with purple soil. But if I can easily depict this scene by coloring the soil as I need, putting a Zoi in a “shooting a laser from behind a rock” pose, and then only drawing an alien and a gun on the resulting picture with the help of AI (or finding the right clothing option among mods and making another Zoi be this monster) — well, if all this will be present, then I can say I’ll have such functionality in the game. Because I’ll be able to create a story about it mostly with the help of the game rather than drawing the whole scene through AI.

So that’s what matters to me. Free and highly detailed control over poses and emotions in photo mode. For me, this would take the game to absolutely incredible heights! :star_struck: :+1:

I have 1600 hours of gameplay and I’d say that speaks for itself

I’ve played it both in Live Mode, in build or Hunt mode (especially for clothes, I’m not a good Zois creator)

I don’t use Smart Zoi because I struggle with English.

I don’t think I have truly unpopular opinions, maybe the only one is that I don’t feel the need for a guided game or big challenges and difficulty, but I’m not against anything that’s optional.

Honestly guys, I agree with all of your detailled opinions. My major and seemingly unpopular opinion is just like @itsmechiie7’s, I’ve been enjoying Live Mode ever since early access launch in 2025. It’s gotten deeper and more complex with the numerous updates, which I am very thankful for, but my joy while playing inZOI was always overwhelmingly present from the start.

Much like @Carnel, I’m very hopeful that photo mode will get even more options bringing versatility in the future. Maybe even some features which make me use the in-game photo studio lots finally. Anything that makes it easier to take beautiful pictures within or of the wonderful Zois and their worlds is very welcome in my gameplay style

And exactly like @mialuce66 described, I haven’t used SmartZoi for more than about 1-2 minutes of my nearly 1000 hours of playing. I think it’s a very nice feature, but doesn’t add anything I need for my gameplay in particular. I’m no big challenges or guided gaming experience player myself, so that’s nothing I’m too interested in for future updates, but maybe it’s a great addition for other players, so it’s definitely fine by me.

An unpopular opinion I have: I’m beyond thankful for inZOI and Paralives, because Sims 4 has done a good job entertaining me for many years, but I was ready for something new to elevate the life-sim genre → Lately I notice a lot of negativity between the communities of those three major life-sim games and I don’t get it. Have fun with your games, let others have fun with their games, and enjoy whenever you meet people who share the same passion for some of those. We’re not community 1 vs community 2

EDIT:
Another unpopular opinion I’ve talked about with a friend of mine recently: All game developers and the team around them (including marketing, finances, mods, staff, etc.) deserve praise for their work of passion. They decided to turn their ideas into games and make them available for all of us to enjoy too. This takes dedication and so much of their precious time and I can’t stress enough how much I appreciate their effort on all levels. IMHO, this is something that isn’t talked about enough.

I don’t use this feature because it’s not stable and could break my game. It could crash.

Oh this has happened to my sister a lot, but it seems to be quite fun… I am with you though, as I don’t use it often

Hahaha I feel you and I agree with you when it comes to a guided game mode or challenges etc. I truly do like this game a lot as it is (minus the bugs ofc)

Well now that is a controversial opinion as it is indeed true the “fandoms” seem to be at war with each other.I must confess I am not a fan of Paralives at all, but the more the merrier they say. And regarding devs… I think Kjun and team deserve a big thank you and some praise, this game is truly something good in the making, I can’t imagine how stressfull it has to be a developer, to be honest. So here’s a sincere thanks to all devs, CMs and volunteers!

Carnel you are me! I do believe this game just needs polishing and a bit of attention to the biggest bugs such as the business system and such, but I do trust the team.

I have never for a single second though about giving photo mode this depth tbh, but it would be interesting for sure. I like creating sort of impossible scenarios to take pictures of my zois or cc collections and something like the photo mode you are talking about would help so much. So it’s a yes from me!

Have you posted this in the wishlist category?

Yes, of course. I even cited the old game “Singles 2” as an example, where it was implemented beautifully. But it only had a few characters and one apartment. InZOI with its graphics could improve that experience a hundredfold.

However, the topic doesn’t seem to have much community support, unfortunately… If you vote there, I’d be grateful: [04.02.26] Возможность вручную ставить Zoi в любую позу

I think @Carnel and @LeeLoo are inseparable they’re 100% similar.

Don’t be mad i’m just joking.

In what sense?

in the sense of twins only Lol. I was just joking.

I got the joke

No, I guarantee: we’re definitely completely different (and most likely unlike ) people.

But yes, we’re both from Russia, so there’s something in common

So i was right after all. I suspected you were twins.

You guessed right, @Carnel and I are spiritual twins

Keep in mind I have just shy of 2000 hours (1960hrs now as of today), so not trashing the game.

My unpopular opinion is that devs have made mistakes since the beginning of free access.
Yes we have awesome new content and Cahaya, which is good.

But they have removed stuff, changed stuff without reason (at least that is apparent until now).
Small tiny things, here and there, which I still miss and I want back.

Such as but not limited to :

  • Adding the missing enneagrams back
  • Re-add the child “auto-join” mechanic when an adult does laundry if the child has that preference
  • Re-add karma and the town “god mode” at midnight if you want to punish/bless townies
  • Give us the option for pre-cahaya UI (the small slim one).
  • Give us the option for the towel instead of the bathrobe when getting off of the bath/shower
  • Bring back the road rage and getting hit by car. I once had a zoi killed by getting hit, it stung but it felt real.
  • Since 48min is the new default, eating and sleeping have been acting weird. Either decouple the needs bars from the 48min (right now they scale for other day lengths, which is why we’re having such weird issues) and have a table for EACH of the time/day, that is the only way to fix this properly. Give us options to adjust those ourselves as well… Try playing the 4 hours/day and see how long they eat… it’s ridiculous and really made that annoying.
  • As a result of the new 48min default, they tried “fixing” it by artificial tempering of the needs (eat at X, sleep at Y, supper at Z). This destroyed zois that slept late or were early birds. They have made these a bit better of late but … we did not need those before. With good needs depletion for each time/day setting we would not need them now either.

It’s fair to say the game will have growing pains, but the needs things was messed-up in like September? last year and everything tried has not been satisfactory.

That was my unpopular opinion. Still not too late to fix it.

Consider it done! Let’s try and revive this topic! @Mazikeen come revive the topic too :custom_heart:

Honestly, I don’t think that’s an unpopular opinion at all. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I actually agree with a lot of what you’re saying. One of the realities of Early Access is that sometimes features get added, removed, adjusted, and occasionally adjusted again. Not every change ends up being an improvement for every player. Like I am going to forever miss the previous baby design but I think there is not much to be done. They are adding some things back little by little, but sadly others don’t seem as if they are making a comeback at all.

The road rage and being hit by cars is probably one of the examples I see mentioned the most. It added unpredictability and consequences to the world. I can definitely understand why some players miss it, even if getting a beloved Zoi flattened by a car was heartbreaking.

I also think options are generally a good thing, the UI example is a perfect case: if both versions can coexist without causing technical issues, giving players the choice seems like a win-win.

That said, one thing I appreciate is that the team has shown they’re willing to revisit previous decisions, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these things continue to be refined over time.

Also, 1,960 hours is wild. :joy: I think you’ve earned the right to have a few strong opinions about the game’s direction… like I thought I was the toughest woman with just 1100+ :psycat_sad:

Some of these are; Constant feature removals. Absurd bugs. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:
