Is everyone just playing inZOI and enjoying the game?

Hey everyone,

I’m wondering, are people just playing now and enjoying the game and not making mental notes of glitches and bugs? I’m definitely at that point. There are still some issues, but I ignore them now and play on. This is good and bad:

Good: The game has improved so much, being more stable, having more gameplay, etc., that I’m busy having a good time. There’s enough to do that you can choose how you will play. E.g. my zois don’t mine for anything anymore, they’re busy working out, snorkelling, going out on dates…

Bad: The problems that I’m ignoring won’t get fixed if I don’t pay attention.

I’m also really looking forward to the December update, but not the baby beating bit, although I think they’re taking that out.

I did enjoy the game despite the bugs and restrictions and the miscommunication , but for me, the October Update was the turning point when it all stacked up to a summit where my whole view on inZOI shifted and I lost the hope it would get better and it went downhill for me - even though it’s still early access. A kind of inZOI despression I guess ^^’

Currently, I’m having the hardest time ever to enjoy the game with all the bugs and restrictions.
I can’t build a house how I want to, my Zois can’t surf when they want to - nothing is really fleshed-out and yet still they keep on adding new stuff to the game - also not fleshed-out.
And when they try to ‘fix’ features, like the trait system, it even gets worse because it’s half-baked and rushed.
These new features might look awesome when I read about them, but in the end it’s just more rabbit holes and kiosks (aka court system and ‘My Business’, to name just two examples of many).

I already stated this in another post, according to Kjun himself, Krafton gets pushy for a final release end of next year, means there will only be maybe 5 more updates until then, where they will try to stuff as many features in as possible to attract new players and get some of the 1.5 million players back who already bought the game.
But from what I’ve seen so far over the last updates (especially in the October update, that felt so rushed), this means there’s not enough time/manpower left to implement what’s urgently needed - depth and soul.

A lot of players, who bought inZOI, might think similar, looking at the player count.
The player count rose significantly after June and August update, but fell quickly. And for the October update, there was only a barely visible rise, most players gave up to take a look.
I’m afraid the game won’t even see it’s final release or might get cancelled soon after when the sales don’t satisfy the expectations of the investors and the negative reviews from disappointed players hit.
Most influencers, I followed over the months, don’t create inZOI content anymore, and a lot of the content I find about inZOI is negative.
That’s the way I feel right now.

I’ve stopped playing. All of the other players I know who bought the game have stopped too. At first I took the game’s problems in stride but after seeing the direction the devs are taking, I’ve given up.

My quick summary of inZOI is “half-baked”.

It’s not just the implementation of game features which is half-baked, but the design of the features themselves. Rather than addressing those fundamental issues, the devs are instead layering on yet more stuff. Given past performance, I have no confidence that any new features and systems will be fully thought out either.

I pop in here occasionally to see what’s happening but that’s about it.

I just went ingame and this scene shows exactly what I mean.

5 bugs in this one screenshot.

I can’t get the run-down bar stool fixed, there’s still the defect in Vlad’s shirt, the pattern on the cups is upside down and blurry/darkened (also blurry/dark on the painting), objects vanishing in photo mode -.-

This is interesting, because I’m now having only a few problems. Most of the issues that I had have been fixed, and even crops are growing now.

I have seen that some people have stopped streaming with inZOI. With one of their save file broke and made the whole save unplayable for them. I believe this was caused by the property they had downloaded, as every other household was fine. Kjun said this is an issue that they’re aware of. Personally, I’ve not seen this.

With the not surfing, my zois rarely attempt it, so I only heard that it was broken through the complaints and reports.

These problems, though, are a big part of the reason why I don’t think they should be looking at multiplayer. They need to get the base game fixed. Multiplayer is going to be a big fail if it’s full of bugs, glitches and crashes on people.

The one streamer I watch routinely is having very few problems, but she plays in the same way that I do, so maybe that’s why my game is working, we’re not coming across the issues.

Partially yes, partially no.

  • I was enjoying myself before 0.20 and they messed the age groups and small talk bubbles. Oh and faster Zois for some unfathomable reason (I prefer the slower zois of pre-0.20, felt more natural).

  • Then I managed to circumvent that with 2 mods and started having fun again.

  • Then they messed the UI, so far they’ve shown no intention of even acknowledging it’s easy fix and letting everyone have their cake. Fine, I can somewhat overlook it, but playing a game with ugly UI rubs me the wrong way you know ?

  • So I started a new game or 2, but just like @LennyOgg mentioned, they messed with the default time per day and since then it’s VERY difficult to enjoy myself. 4hrs is still nigh-unplayable (take 3 showers and 4 toilets break to fill up their needs. Eating takes forever and then some, many actions take forever so they appear stuck, recovering energy in 4-hour day? lol, enjoy queuing 8 “sit and rest actions”… How can anyone enjoy this ? Looks the only good option must be 48min but I DONT PLAY 48MIN. 96 was perfect for one family, 4hrs was borked even before they “tweaked the needs” (being polite), but at least it was working and somewhat pleasant to use.

  • Also again about the needs, there’s an artificial depletion going on to force zois to eat at specific times ans sleep at specific times. before that (very bad) change, if you woke up at noon fully rested, Your zoi would be okay until 4am before heading back to bed. You could easily fix this by sending them to sleep early the next day or keep that rythm if that was your thing for that zoi in that game… Why the artificial need depletion ? Just let them be full and deplete at a standard pace from full to empty (16 hours for sleep, 12 hours for eating, etc). I mean it was like that before, and I want it back.

  • Then they changed the Enneagram, removing one or 2 for whatever reasons, renaming the Entertainer as a trouble maker (what the… come on guys !)… We got some characteristics, most are pure net negative (nothing good comes of them), and not enough neutral/good ones. That can be fixed but… bring back the original ones and make those characteristics optional, and make more of them which are not so negative. Or just roll the whole thing back and work on the original Enneagrams.

.

So I cannot play a serious game… that is until the needs, the 96min and 4hs day lengths are fixed, and I get a proper age-group length (or I can set those properly myself which if we understood correctly will happen in the December patch… even if we heard nothing of it since the announcement and patch most likely will happen in 2 weeks).

But even if I get the points above resolved enough to start a serious game, why does the original game in its pre-0.20 mechanics with the pre-0.30 UI and now the pre-0.4.0 length of day change felt SO MUCH BETTER ? I’m not an ungrateful brat here, I loved all the bugfixes they put in the game. But it feels like it’s always one step forward, 2 steps back with the development cycle, and it’s making me not trust that sound decisions will get taken, we’re moving away of what made the game very good and it feels more and more “arcady” like a cellphone game with clicks everywhere to keep your attention, and less of a simulation game every patch, complete with the overblown UI that keeps getting bigger every patch. Like I used to be able to relax playing this pre-0.20, but more and more this is getting gnawed at one tiny piece at a time.

So I just play short games, and try and post as many issues as I see, while the most important one to me are ignored by the devs (perceived or true, dunno). I have so many suggestions made to restore a bit of the earlier magic, all ignored as far as I know… It does a number after some time.

Sorry for the Long rant. Yes I still enjoy this game, but more and more annoyances are undermining my fun every updates, and it’s getting old, real fast.

For me, the game has become much better than it was, and much more interesting. I’m tired of reading about the current player base; there are too many factors that influence it, and people don’t pay attention to them. The only thing I think is that the latest update is terrible in terms of stability. If you take the game’s bugs into account, I’m okay with that; it’s normal, and they fix them more often than any other well-known company. It’s like playing hide-and-seek with a ghost, but the sheer number of crashes and stability drops is frustrating, although I must admit I’m glad we have a new crowd. What I miss is a solid foundation for family. I still think the game is good for 1-2 characters, but when it comes to family, the main foundation is lacking. Otherwise, I’m waiting for next year and a small roadmap for fixing the core mechanics.

So I think when there’s a robust save system that doesn’t cause such crashes and restarts, plus some mechanics are refined, people will enjoy the game even more. As for people’s reactions, I’m seeing increasingly positive reactions, especially among influencers in my country, but they tend to release more major content when they release something similar to what happened in the summer and what will happen in the winter.

Honestly, I’ve been enjoying it since release and still am. My steam library shows 500+ hours of in-game time and my support is growing stronger each day.

There are some bugs and glitches but I’ve been spared from most of the big ones. Since it’s early access I’ve decided to actively participate in reporting and trying to find work-arounds here in this forum. The game remained my obsession ever since. I’m mostly unbothered by the bugs because I’ve played the major competitor all my life and remained patient with it too. Life sim games are tough to program and develop because they’re basically three games in one - building, living & designing characters. They did a solid job with this foundation in my opinion, especially because every single hotfix + major update brought more fixes than it did damage. We know that’s not always the case for those games

I think the communication between the devs and the players feels a bit stagnant at the moment because the team has to figure out ways to adjust their development schedule to our reports and wishes quite a lot but that’ll become easier in 2026 because they’ll get used to it.

The game has huge potential and, to me, it’s become more stable and even deeper with every update. I really hope players will continue to dive into it every now and then and everyone finds a way to enjoy the game along the way.

Lots of love to the devs and the players <3

I have over 800 hours of gameplay, and I’ve used some of it to build or publish modified clothes with custom textures on Canvas.

I’m playing my families discontinuously, waiting to understand if some features like the family tree will be available or not with old saves. This incompatibility issue is the main thing holding me back from playing.

I’ve played a bit with new saves, but I don’t feel like making new families under these conditions and playing with just one bores me.

Another problem is mods (I only use them for clothing). After the October update they caused several issues.

Until October the game had never crashed, and now it does regularly when I exit Canvas and go to the lobby.

Sorry, it’s a long one…

I hope the devs are paying attention to this.

It’s a really good point that life sims are 3 games in 1, but, more than that, depending on your playing style, you’ll perceive the game differently.

For those who build and mod, the crashes are making the game unplayable. For people wanting immersion, the game’s glitches and bugs are frustrating. People playing old saves don’t want to open the game for fear of ruining everything they’ve done. People new to the game are saying it lacks depth and looks too realistic. Although, that would be fixed if people knew about the filters. There are also people not playing because of the use of AI. I think it was a massive fail to hype that in the beginning. AI is a part of everything now, but people don’t want games made with AI, even if the game is made by humans.

People are also seeing the devs responding to our feedback as a weakness. I don’t get that myself. The game is better for this.

I’m still playing the same old save, but with Zayla and Bradley’s teenage kids. I was surprised that, when they both went over the zoi rainbow, the kids weren’t kicked out of the house. I thought I’d have to start again, as with previous games. But it seems Abraham was old enough to become the head of the household, as it were.

It has become a little boring, just getting the teens through each day, eat food, go to school, clean the house, homework, eat, sleep. Rinse and repeat. I’m not playing as much as I’m waiting for the December update. I’m really pleased that we won’t have to share our textures when we upload to canvas, so I’m saving them.

I continue to play and enjoy the game to a certain extent, but I must say that currently, my gameplay experience is bittersweet.

Sweet because I feel like I’ve found a balance between performance and graphics quality that my graphics card, which isn’t high-end, allows me to achieve. I’ve been playing non-stop for days, with no lag and no crashes (so far), although I must confess, I had a scare after the last hotfix because my game did crash (once) due to the (few) mods I had, cause they needed updating.

Now, it’s bitter because, if there’s one thing I loved about, say, The Sims 3, it was the immersion when playing. When I started playing Inzoi, that immersion was flawless, but today I’m struggling with two bugs that really ruin. not only the immersion, but the continuity of my game.

First, the spa robe bug. My Zoi keeps changing to his spa robe as his default outfit. I read that bug was already fixed, but I guess you have to start a new save for it to take effect, and starting from scratch with my current family is not an option for me.

Second, the game’s camera bug, which makes objects disappear from my zois’ hands. I said it before; I’m a serial photo shooter. I love taking pictures of my characters while they’re doing anything. But now there are very few things I can take pictures of because practically everything disappears from my zois’ hands: the baby bottle, the drumsticks, the phone, the ring when proposing, and the list goes on. This has become downright annoying. I know I can take photos using the PrtSc key, but then I can’t use the camera effects, such as DOF, poses, etc., and all the fun turns into frustration.

Anyway, back to the OP’s question, I still have a lot of fun playing Inzoi. Seriously, time flies when I play, and I’m far from having used up all the gameplay possibilities on my zois. In fact, there are still some areas I haven’t visited and lots of interactions I haven’t used. So I still have a lot to discover. At this point, I’m not asking for much, just that you guys please fix the camera as soon as possible. Maybe even before the next update?

As for the spa robe, there’s no way I will start over with the Zoi family I’m currently playing with, so I guess I’ll be stuck with that robe forever. Plus, now I’m afraid to send my other families to the spa because they might end up wearing the robe too, forever.

That’s all, sorry if my answer seemed like a long rant. That wasn’t my intention. I love Inzoi, with all its bugs and errors (hoping, of course, that they will be fixed). Bugs won’t discourage me.

Please don’t give up because of criticism. Players have been complaining about as long as I can remember, especially Sims players, and they continue to buy expansion packs full of bugs that add to the existing ones. Players and people in general will always complain about one thing or another, so please keep going.

Inzoi has a lot of potential, and it’s beautiful too. It’s everything I dreamed of in a simulation game, and right now it’s the most attractive and innovative game in its genre. Please keep it up, just don’t abandon your player base; and most of all, don’t ignore bug reports, these should come before any of our wish lists for new things. There will be time to add things later, right now it is important that what already exists works a 100% well.

You got my full support, and I’m really looking forward to the December update. Thank you, and sorry @LittleBrownBiscuit for the long reply.

It looks like, for the most part, we’re on the same page:

  • The game has potential
  • Bugs, crashes and glitches are a pain and stop people from playing
  • We need more gameplay
  • Immersion is a must

Is that about it?

Here, the game’s lifespan and early access play a bigger role, so yeah

I would agree that this summarizes it quite well.

In my case I was really excited for Inzoi as a longtime Sims player and somebody who really did not like Sims 4 after they took all of the important features from Sims 3 away. The open world, modern graphics etc. were definitely selling points for me.

As from the start of early access I kind of liked the game but it was really very shallow back in February / March. There was really not enough to do for a long gameplay. From then on with the Cahaya update and now the October update a lot has been added and there is much more to do, explore, more ways to play. Now I am really able to play and enjoy longer saves without having the feeling that I don´t really know what to do with my Zoi all day long.

Nevertheless the annoying part is that with more features there are also more issues. Things which do not work properly, bugs etc. And there is still need for more gameplay and immersion.

I am really looking forward for them implementing multitasking and I really hope for more meaningful group activities where you can do stuff together as friends or family and passively raise the relationship while doing it. This is really lacking as the only way to increase relationships is through talking 1:1. If you play pool or bowling or chess there is no relationship gain and it is also way to short. I hope they add more such things where Zois can spend an hour or so doing something together while talking passively and having fun. Also I really hope for the adjustable lifespans as currently it feels off if you play a family gameplay due to parents dying while children are still teens or adolescents in case they did not get the kids right at the beginning of their young adult life stage.
