Details: This started happening after the School patch. Almost every day, my zois keep setting the table for soup. At one point, my teen’s homework even disappeared because the stepmom interrupted him to set the table while he was finishing his homework. I created a new save file to test whether the issue was specific to my household, but as soon as I created a new family, the very first thing the mother did was go and set the table. It seems to happen constantly.
I have the same thing. In the mornings, Zoe comes and sets the table. And she uses soup for that, specifically. Free soup, that’s unrealistic, I don’t need free food, I’m actually looking for ways to spend money
This happens to me but my zoi will fix group meals and call everyone to eat and it clears the table. She does this even after they’ve just finished eating. I love that they will finally cook autonomously for their family, but it disrupts whatever they’re doing and even if they are already eating. What ever they have in their hand or on the table disappears and they go to the table to eat again.
I saw that the developers added some kind of feature for more realistic eating. It seemed to me that this is the reason for such behavior. My Sims also constantly sets the table with just soup. They do this even when there’s already prepared food on the table. And they can’t set anything but soup, you can verify this by clicking on the table.
I don’t think this is a bug rather than a game intended feature - I started a new save in Dowon with a single mom and daughter in their new home and the very first thing the mom did was to serve soup - I thought it was amazing and really gave me all the feels
In my other save the mom auto serves breakfast as well. I really love this - I think it’s awesome.
I agree with @VIBES, even though I wasn’t able to play as much inZOI as before the update and due to that haven’t witnessed this myself. It’s very likely a feature intended to work this way Maybe someone from the team can shed some light on it?
Did she automatically serve toast by herself? It would be better if the food were more varied.
But this takes away our ability to manage the process ourselves. Personally, I enjoy creating a daily routine and watching it unfold, while the food is served without any cooking. What’s the point of this convenience? Besides, the character insistently tries to do it even if you cancel the action.
Yes, she did. I noticed if I select cook from fridge a family sized meal, it sometimes only gets put on the counter and everyone grabs from there. You obviously can call everyone to the meal. I still need to play a bit more to see if this is a varied feature.
I know ppl are wanting more autonomy of the zois, but when we’re talking about group meals I’d rather they did not.
I do not want my zoi to override my decision of when/what they eat (unless they get starving or I am not there to take care of them, of course).
I really hope they rework the eating logic, like I was asking every brainstorm for more than 2 months now
Breakfast, Lunch or Diner it’s always “Soup” He certainly has a high enough “Cooking” skill level for Pancakes or “English Breakfast” could the Zoi creators come up with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner sections on the fridge so it’s much more fulfilling
For me the issue is more about timing and frequency. The zois will do this even if they’ve just eaten 5 mins earlier. It is also annoying that a zoi drops everything to run towards the table when another zois sets it. Even if their baby is about to starve they’ll abort the task to go feed them to have their soup instead.
