Hi inZOI team,
I know the community is divided on whether the game should include supernatural/occult elements. I’d like to suggest a smart, low-cost solution that satisfies both sides in the base game, while leaving room for future expansions.
The Idea: “Roleplay-Based” Supernatural Elements Instead of developing complex occult mechanics right away, the base game could simply provide themed outfits/accessories in Canvas, paired with a few creative personality traits. Players can then use their imagination to roleplay.
For example, we can mimic supernatural creatures by matching outfits with traits:
-
Werewolf: Paired with “Loner” or “Hot-tempered” traits.
-
Mermaid: Paired with “Curious” or “Charming” traits.
-
Fairy: Paired with “Lively” or “Playful” traits.
-
Witch/Wizard: Paired with “Smart” or “Sly” traits.
Why this works:
-
Balances Base Game vs. Future DLC: It satisfies players who want fantasy storytelling early on, without annoying players who prefer a strictly realistic life-sim.
-
Saves Development Cost: You don’t need to code brand-new powers or transformation states yet.
-
Leaves Room for DLC: I would still love to see a fully fleshed-out Supernatural Expansion Pack in the future with complex gameplay, but this is the perfect middle ground for now!
Thank you for considering this approach!
