I think the Photo Mode could be expanded further, especially for players who enjoy taking character photos.
It would be nice to have more control over the characters and camera, such as eye tracking/look-at camera, freely rotating the character, and more options for adjusting poses.
I’d also like to see more control over the lighting in a scene. Being able to move or adjust light sources would make it much easier to create different moods and take better portraits.
Another thing I’m wondering about is whether there are any plans to add photography studios or dedicated photo locations to the maps. I don’t think I’ve come across any so far, but I think they would work really well with the Photo Mode.
Cyberpunk 2077’s current Photo Mode is a good reference for this. Its camera, character and lighting controls give players a lot of freedom, and I think inZOI could take its Photo Mode in a similar direction.
Why limit ourselves to just CAZ? We need all of this in the game itself, so we can create large-scale scenes with many participants, control them, and give them the poses and facial expressions we want. That would be a real “bomb” for all potential directors!
I’m talking specifically about photos — videos require a completely different approach, though of course it would be nice to have the ability to create some “keyframes” if the AIs could later properly interpolate the intermediate movements. But I’m not tackling that yet.
Just “director” isn’t only about videos. Story-comics also require us to pose all the characters in the frame. If we only have one character in each picture — how will we build interactions? Yes, we can make them communicate one way or another and catch the right moment, but if we have the ability to place each character exactly where we want, and fine-tune every detail of each one’s pose and facial expression — that would be a completely different level of authenticity!
And that was implemented in a game from almost 20 years ago. So if computers back then could do it — modern computers, even the weakest ones capable of running InZOI, can definitely handle it!
