"Rental" Ships are not treated as rentals

  • Details: In Cahaya after you rent a ship you pretty much “own” it because the rental period never expires. You can return back to Dowon or Bliss Bay (if you are originally from there) and come back on vacation to Cahaya again and the boat is still where you left it. Its better if the rental was for a limited time period (say 24hrs) and the boat disappeared (was “returned”) after the 24hr period.

I like the option to keep a boat. It would be great if the game offered both.

yes it would be nice to have both options. I think there is a wishlist item for the ability to own boats which hopefully we can park in our home lot.

Agreed, like the scuba gear. Next time I’m going to rent something fancy and keep it parked at the other end of the beach near where my zoi lives.

Yes, I think it would be good to have the option to rent or buy. Another life goal to work towards - super yachts would be amazing.

I’d prefer to have the option to rent the boat at a discounted price or buy the boat at full price, rather than have the boat always disappear after 24 hours… For now, I am glad it doesn’t disappear. Imagine having to spend 10K Meow a day for the biggest expensive boat. Not very fun.

Same with the snorkeling gear that actually does disappear after 24 hours. It’s a nuisance to have to repurchase snorkeling gear every day for thousands of dollars. We should be able to purchase and own it.

but that’s the challenge aspect. If you have money to blow its fun. Anyway you don’t need to always rent the most expensive boat especially if you don’t have the money. My zoi was increasing her swimming skill by swimming across to the 3 islands before she had enough money to afford the boats

Yes, and that’s great for Zoi with stories that challenge would apply to, but the point is that both options should be available, to buy or to rent, just like in real life.

I’d rather not be stuck renting items every day, as my only option, if buying could also be an option.

My Zoi is a pro surfer and snorkeler in my game. Realistically, she would have her own gear, not rent one every day. Currently, she can’t afford to snorkel every day on her wages, which makes no sense. As for a boat, she probably would rent, but for a Zoi that would realistically own a boat (say, a fisherman), big or small, the option should be available. It should just be considerably more expensive.

yes! That’s what we are asking. I also agreed with the Cynna that having both options is a good idea. The current option though is called “rental” but it isn’t treated as a rental which is why I raised it as a bug.
