[12.12.25] Staying in hotels instead of buying houses and other content across all cities

On August 15, Kjun shared with us the following: ”Right now, it can feel like you’re “buying” the room instead of renting it. We feel sorry for this, and we’ll work to improve it in the future.” Sounds like it was about having to buy a house instead of just renting when arriving in Cahaya.

I think gameplay would be greatly improved if Zois were not required to own a house in cities or resorts at all, but instead had only the option to rent a room (+ in a hostel or hotel.)

This would solve the issue of having to move into houses when using Move Cities, even if you only need to stay for a short time or just for vacation.

We already have the rooms in Cahaya…

the hotel lobbies (like “dummy” hotel floors/rooms) in both cities (Hotel Club in Dowon, Elegance Hotel in Bliss Bay)…

…and I’d also like something more affordable and compact as a buildable lot, such as the existing rooms in Cahaya and even the whole Boutique Hotel in LBY.

Along with this, Kjun said: ”As I mentioned earlier, we don’t want to limit these (ocean-related features) to just Cahaya. Our team will prioritize developing systems that function across all cities”.

But many gameplay features are implemented only in Cahaya, such as boats and yachts, as well as facilities like spa, sauna, etc., and many other objects (including darts, skee-ball machine, high striker, claw machines etc.) locked for placement through Build Mode.

Are there plans to unlock and adapt this content for player use anywhere / in the main cities, and also to provide these and additional services (like spa/sauna, laundry, play zone, snack bar) to other Zois within the My Business function in the future?

I used to play in Bliss Bay and travel to Cahaya on non-work days. It was frustrating having to buy property or land to be able to play there. A zoi should only get somewhere to stay if necessary. They can already sleep in the streets on sheets of cardboard. If they are going to stay for a few days, they should be able to stay at a resort, or what about AirZnZ? Day trips should also be possible.

Sure. This post became quite popular on Discord, and for the most part it’s about improving existing features rather than adding new ones. I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t get included in the response or quick fixes.

I said I’d be surprised, and WOW. All sorts of tranquilizers and grenades made it into the response, but hotels and DLC cross‑content with 24+15+11+10+13 didn’t)) And even the school bus had 30+ upvotes, and the return of lost cars with 24+13+… also didn’t. Unbelievable!)
