Lot upload size increase please

Would it be crazy or a super tall order to suggest a file size limit increase for lots on Canvas?…
I would love to decorate my houses with all the amazing decorations from the creators but I can’t upload my mansion…
I would love if this could be increased at some point considering we are going to build resorts :face_holding_back_tears:

Same I had made a really quirky boutique and I can’t even get the file to upload because of the 100mb restrictions  I’m so annoyed so I saved my screen shots instead. The real kicker is that the lot itself was very small and didn’t even have that many objects inside of it at least nothing crazy..?

Please Inzoi team increase the file upload size or others may start sharing their builds on other platforms.

I assume you downloaded items from Canvas , you need to check them because my problem was one chair. The poly count was huge. The easiest way to do that is to delete one chair or sofa and try to upload - you will see the upload size decrease. Let me know if this resolves your issue….:two_hearts:

Some of the items were but most of the items I used were from the game itself which I couldn’t understand. So I ended up deleting all the clothing racks and some other objects to see if it would fix the issue it was still saying 201. something MB

That’s interesting. Is it possible for you to check the file sizes of the item that you downloaded?
To see what you have downloaded and where to find it:
Go to Documents
inZOI
Canvas
MyFurnitures
Inside this folder you will find all your downloaded items - each in their own folder - it even has it’s own Thumbnail
Right click on the .dat file and select properties - there you can see the size.
I hope this helps :custom_butterfly:

I think these restrictions make sense because such huge lots may cause crashes or performance issues in the games of the players who download them.
Afaik canvas doesn’t even warn when mods and cc are included in downloaded lots and zois.
How is one supposed to find out why their game crashes?
They come asking here for help and we ask: ‘Do you use mods?’
And they say: ‘No!’ (because they didn’t (knowingly) ö.ö’)

Just for comparison how huge a 100MB lot must be:

This is my biggest lot file (noCC/no mods), it’s ~5MB.
So if I calculated correctly(?), a 100MB lot is a 20x bigger file size than this lot :scream:
It’s built on one of the biggest lots at Cahaya and even though it’s fully furnished, it isn’t that cluttered, but I already had lags when loading and saving it, or when a Zoi traveled there with a loading screen, it took longer than on other lots of mine. With a 17 month old computer on the better end.

So if you want to do your fellow Zoiers a favour, check the file sizes of the included objects.

The following non cc objects might also indicate a high poly count/cause lot files to bloat, for example.
Like plants, animated objects and if the lights Cast Shadows are enabled.

The file size limits obviously do make sense to some degree and I totally agree with you but I think the problem could easily come from downloading a single chair, like in my case - that you have no idea is so large. Even when you have a regular sized lot that’s not very cluttered, one chair can be a problem.
This was my exact problem before - I don’t know if you recall but you also mentioned to me to check repeat plants, lights, etc.

I thinks it’s important to know where to look first once you reached a limit because sometimes you just want to decorate a house, not knowing which item is too large. Just identifying it and swopping it out can resolve the upload limit.

I think it would help a great deal if Canvas decorations can show the file size before we download it. I really think that would help.

Stunning build by the way

Yes, I remember and I totally agree. Therefore I suggested to check the file sizes of the included objects because just increasing the upload size will only cause more problems imo.
Canvas should let us know about the file size, which objects are included (and also give the original creators credits) and give us the option to download the lot/zoi without mods/cc and maybe even disable the ‘cast shadow’ of the lights.
(and: Thank you : )

Yeah I will check that and see how big it is. It sucks because you work so hard on a lot and building and decorating and can’t even upload it Canvas lol.

I do hope in the future the restriction can be lifted when uploading creations, but a warning would pop up for each lot that’s over 100mb so others know. I may have to start uploading my builds to Nexus instead.
