Details: Latest Steam Inzoi version, Win 11, CPU i9-11900K, RTX3090, 64GB Ram, 4TB NVMe SSds. Issue date? No error message. I created a bottoms (pants jeans) texture in PSP Pro, used a pair of inzoi default pants (leggings), and mapped my texture on to them, not a perfect alignment, but OK. Uploaded to Canvas but not showing? Either they have been disapproved, or the texture file was rejected? The texture file was a PNG, Resolution 2400x2400, and File Explorer shows the size as 9.58 MB. So the texture file may be too big? I prefer to use PNG as JPG does does degrade the quality a bit. What is the texture file resolution and size limit? And does the ratio need to be square? If my texture mod shows up in the InZoi game, then why is it being rejected in Canvas?
Welcome to the forum, Lion . I’m not sure what’s happening, but 2400x is definitely too much. The maximum should be 512x. They’re usually square, like maps, although I’ve seen some creators with rectangular images. JPEG is recommended, but I also use PNG. That does increase the size a bit. If they’re good quality, the image shouldn’t degrade. In Krita, even the 5000x ones don’t degrade for me. Creations of this type on Canvas are usually no larger than 8 MB, but it’s the whole package; mine average 3.5 MB. It’s possible all of this is unrelated. For now, could you try resizing to 512x and see if that’s the issue? You could upload to Canvas in private view mode to run some tests.
*This is not official; it’s just my experience as a creator.
Thanks for reply. What I do not understand is, my 2400x2400 texture shows and works fine in the InZoi game, so why should Canvas reject it? 512x512 is far too low. A jeans texture would look very fuzzy! So much so it would not be worth uploading to Canvas? I was using PNG 2400x2400 textures in Sims 4, and uploading to their mods site. The default Sims 4 texture size is 1024x2048, and HQ Mode mode can be 2048x4096. InZoi needs to do better than 512x512. In PSP Pro I have reduced the size of the texture to JPG 512x512 as a test, and the detail is rubbish!
Is the PSP Photoshop or Corel? 512x works fine for me; it sometimes looks blurry in the canvas, but it looks better in the game and in CAS. I’m also a Sims creator, though I created furniture, and we used 512x, while the game sometimes used 256x and even 128x. In Inzoi, the AI uses 384x. We creators do what we want. While we still don’t know what might happen, maybe someone knows.
Thanks. I use Corel Paint Shop Pro 2023. I have been using it for years. The JPG 512x512 looks blurry and sharpening does not make it look any better, and It look bad in the game. However, 1024x1024 look a lot better. I will try that res and see if Canvas accepts it. If not I will just forget uploading to Canvas, which would be a shame. Maybe Krafton will improve this situation as its still early in its development. Although InZoi looks better than Sims 4, it’s not on par with it as regards features and gameplay, but hopefully it will get better.
I know Corel very well, I love it, it’s a great program, so that’s not the problem. I’m thinking about it, I’m confused by the translation. A map uv isn’t the same as a texture in Inzoi. Maps uv can be larger, that’s true for clothing. I think mods are uploaded to CurseForge, not Canvas. If it needs significant improvement, yes.
Thanks for showing me that. Wow! 8192x8192 PNG texture and it uploads to canvas! Something not quite right with me trying to upload my 2400x2400 texture? I have reduced my texture to 1024x1024 but with JPG format, it looks OK with inZoi. Tried upload to Canvas but still rejecting it? I will have to report this to bugs.
Anyway, now someone official from Inzoi should come and tell us what the recommended exact texture size is. Of course, with the number of polygons the AI’s 3D model has, what are they going to tell us…?
Mialuce, there’s no problem if your computer can handle what you’re putting in it.
I have changed the resolution of my textures from 2400x2400 to 2048x2048, PNG, and now Canvas does accept them. You can see them on Canvas. I will do 2 additional choices on the Jeans textures, one in black, where you have option to gloss them to look like leather Levis style jeans, and another with pale blue. Easy to do using Corel Paint Shop Pro 2023. All the best to all, and thanks for the comments.
I’m glad the problem is resolved, Lion . Thanks for letting us know. I’m sure those jeans are going to be great. Best of luck to you too, and enjoy Canvas!
Yes, I have a lot of textures and it handles them really well.
Right at the beginning when the game had just come out, I read somewhere on Reddit that 8192 was the best option and since it’s my first time creating textures I used that .
That sounds like a good idea, mialuce. I’ve never seen an 8000 image; whoever said that, I don’t know what they were thinking… One of the things that image editors have (some of you probably already know this) is sharpening. It gives a subtle touch (not too much, because sometimes it can make things worse) to images as a final touch before saving them, and if they’ve deteriorated a bit when resizing, sharpening improves them.
