InZoi already has a basic body/physique change system. This request discusses expanding that system to include a wider variety of situations, as well as new mechanics that would better resemble real life.

In Detail

Temporary Changes

Zois can wear items such as shapewear, corsets, and padding to temporarily modify their body shape. The interactions to apply and remove them would most likely be found on dressers and clothing racks, and Zois will wear them until they shower/bathe or until they change into an incompatible outfit, such as swimwear; Zois wearing these may get occasional buffs, such as confidence from their appearance or discomfort from the shapewear itself.

Metabolism

InZoi already has a basic, “CICO” metabolism system, but real-life metabolism is different, and our understanding of it is constantly evolving (the exercise paradox theory is gaining traction). Having a metabolism system where Zois can change weight and muscle mass at different rates (and possibly, lose hunger at different rates) based on a metabolic rate value would more resemble real life, and that metabolic rate can change.

Things that could possibly change metabolic rate:

  • Spending too long starving (especially if they exercise while hungry)
  • Muscle mass
  • Certain illnesses
  • Donuts, coupons, and other “cheaty” elements

Because this is can be hard to keep up with, there should be a “detailed metabolism system” toggle in settings. I’m also leaving out a dieting system because, while realistic, is a delicate subject. InZoi’s message of “eat healthier food” with their calorie system is better and doesn’t encourage restriction.

Cosmetic Surgery

Zois who want a permanent change to their appearance can seek cosmetic surgery at the hospital; once they enter, the player is sent to a CAZ screen where they can modify the Zoi’s face and body. After a few hours, the Zoi leaves and will need to recover for a few days.

There is a small chance (more or less depending on karma) that the Zoi might get a botched surgery and come out with a deformed or asymmetrical feature, requiring more surgeries if the Zoi has the money for it.

Gender Transitions

Another system I’d like is a gender transition system, including social (name, clothes, etc.), hormonal/medical, and surgery. For this to work better, there should be a way to change gender data without the CustomZoi cheat, as well as the ability to let child Zois declare their gender (children start developing a gender identity by age 2 (3-4 Korean age) and socially transition.

I’m going to post a disclaimer that some of the language might be iffy here; I’m trying to implement these concepts in a way that works with the existing game engine as best as I can. Ideally, the dev team would implement something similar to (but better and less glitched) Sims 4’s gender system, with body frames being separate from “chest shape” and other physical traits.

Players who want to bypass this can turn off this system in settings, and while off, Zois can insta-transition with an interaction.

Types

Surgical transition, like cosmetic surgery, sends the player to a CAZ screen where they can reshape the Zoi as they wish. The main difference from cosmetic surgery would be the prices; zero chance of botching (it happens but it feels too cruel in this case); the resulting buffs, with transition providing longer and better buffs; the ability to choose between male and female frames; and that transition alleviates dysphoria.

Hormonal/medical transition can gradually change the Zoi’s body, such as Zois on testosterone developing muscle while Zois on estrogen develop softer faces and lose body hair. It’d be more complex to implement, especially without a custom body and gender system.

Social transition changes a Zoi’s name, clothes, hair, etc. and can include the “temporary changes” as mentioned above, such as binders and hip padding.

Dysphoria

To make transition more meaningful, Zois whose physical traits don’t match their gender experience dysphoria. While dysphoric, Zois experience negative buffs related to their transition, as well as stronger negative buffs in general, but after transition.

Nonbinary Zois

Dysphoria for nonbinary Zois would, obviously, be more complex. Best solution I can think of is a “desired traits” section under gender options.
