So I have some things I’d like to see added for pregnancy and babies

Starting with pregnancy something I think should be tweaked is the zois belly growth when pregnant. The zois belly doesn’t grow out that much when pregnant. I think to add some realism would be to have zois have varying degrees of how big their stomach gets. Also having stretch marks would add realism ( randomized of course cause much like real life not everyone gets stretch marks from pregnancy) I think stretch marks should also be a toggle since not everyone will want to have it

Also having aches and pains, morning sickness, energy draining more than normal, npc zois can ask to feel the baby

Id love to have exclusive baby toys we can get online since there’s already an option to shop for the baby now. I’d like to see moods swings, food cravings, and actual weight gain during pregnancy. Being able to have twins and triplets would be nice too.

I do think teens should be allowed to get pregnant as well and have parents react to it in a positive way, negative and mixed way depending on their personality. So for example certain zois will be more understanding with their pregnant teen and will be supportive and try to help them the best they can while other zois will be fully disappointed and angry, resulting in them not wanting to help, and could potentially kick them out of the household. For zois who are having mixed feelings on it they could be disappointed but still wanting to help. They can occasionally get angry about the situation and snap at their child.

I do believe we should have a preference added whether our zois actually want to have children or not ( could be a selection in caz). This can also be an autonomous choice your zoi makes over time. So having 3 options in caz when creating a zoi: wants to have children, doesn’t want to have children or let zoi decide for themselves over time). The reason I say over time is because not everyone decides they’re going to have children or not and sticks with it forever, so I think letting the decision happen gradually would be great. So they could initially decide they want to have children and then change their mind if they’re a very career oriented zoi or vice versa . For those that don’t want children they would be more unhappy during pregnancy and won’t be as close to their child ( more prone to arguing and having a poor relationship )after they’re born or could warm up to them over time. This could also affect the parents relationship as well if one of them or both don’t want children. As well as zois being able to get baby blues occasionally

It would be really nice to have baby showers as an event as well and have the option to have it at an actual venue or at home.

Having zois be able to sing to their baby while pregnant or read to them would be a cute detail

we should have appointments as well for regular check ups and having the option to find out the babies gender before giving birth or not.

For babies. Being able to bottle and breastfeed . For bottle feeding I’d like to actually see zois setting up the bottle so having the option for liquid formula, powdered formula and ready to feed formula would be nice to have animations for these and being able to sit with the baby in a rocking chair or in bed/ on the couch. I also think it would be funny little detail if babies could puke on the parents occasionally.

Babies also shouldn’t have teeth right away either lol so I hope that can be changed

I’d love to take babies out in strollers for a walk( maybe even have an interaction where npc zois can stop to compliment our babies), put them in car seats for a drive and have baby carriers

Various kinds of crib and bassinet designs

Being able to cuddle with our baby on the couch/ in bed or in a rocking chair along with being able to rock them to sleep.

Tummy time as well

Being able to wash them in the sink in a baby bath

Having baby swings and baby walkers, rattles, teething rings, pacifiers

I’d like to be able to actually buy diapers, bottles, baby clothes, baby powder etc and be able to store them on shelves and actually see the amount decrease until we run of out of the items or until the clothes need to be washed so we then have to restock everything.

For adopting babies I think it would be cool if we had the option to tell them they’re adopted as a child or teen and they could get curious as to who their biological parents are and could set out to find them. Even being able to put our own babies up for adoption( for pregnant teens especially) would add to storytelling and we should have the option to try and find our child later on as well to try and build a relationship

As for having a child through medical procedures, I do think there should be a chance that it won’t work at all. Which falls in line with having zois not be able to have children as a feature that would add realism

I know there is a lot here but this would add so much depth and realism for this stage that I think pretty much everyone wants to see

It would also be cool for your Zois to be able to get maternity leave when pregnant. It kind of sucks that your Zoi had to work on the day they give birth and right after. It makes things awkward for single parents. I know you can hire childcare services to watch your kid but it really needs improvement.

Another cute thing to add would be to ability to have a baby shower.

There is currently a look at sonogram photos interaction but it would be awesome to be able to order them and have them be hung on the walls or be framed.

Yes, this. I would love the option to turn off autonomous pregnancies for selected households. Also to turn off autonomous try for baby in active household. I don’t want to raise children in every save.

There’s no room for these babies is a big problem. There’s not enough room for Zois I want in the first place. It’s not fun game play and it doesn’t make any sense to have like 6 kids in a 1 bedroom apartment.

I love the idea of toggle switches for a lot of things. They say they want us to customize. Prove it.

On a funny note, the Cruz resort family had a baby. The mom is friends with a woman from the other resort household. I had the mom text her to announce her pregnancy and the friend’s response was something like, are you sure this is the right time? Girl, I was thinking the same thing. I’m glad someone told her lol

You write many wonderful, sweet things that should be implemented. But you don’t mention that Zoi babies are born with teeth, just like vampires. If this has already been pointed out here, then SORRY!

I would love to be able to put the zois to do several things with babies in their arms!

I don’t know if the other players agree… But I personally think it’s weird that newborns and babies look the same and are the same size. I think newborns should be smaller and have features related to this age (closed eyes, completely toothless, closed hands…).

Perhaps they could combine all the current functionality/gameplay of newborns and babies to be used only in babies, since they already exist, and allowing interaction with the babies both in the crib and outside of it. In fact, I think it’s strange that newborns are tied to the crib, just as it’s strange not to be able to put the babies to sleep in the crib.

To be completely honest, I would like not only to modify the newborns and “combine” the current phases of newborn and baby, but I would also like very much to add another “age”/age group. I think they should rename the combination of what is now for newborns and babies as “babies in arms” or something like that; and create a new age group with slightly larger babies, who could walk and have a little more autonomy. I think there is currently a “gap”/void/leap from the baby to the child.

I don’t know if the other players agree, but I really think that this reorganization of the ages/phases of the babies would make a lot of difference. I think the current form is quite flawed and incomplete.

I agree with everything, and I’m especially interested in contraception. Slight smile.

I rotate families, and one of them had three children on her own while I wasn’t playing, in addition to the two I chose for her to have, even though I disabled aging. Luckily, they have a big house, but I find myself with five children, two babies, and three newborns, and it’s going to be a nightmare when I have to look after them with homework.

Also, one of my Zois had a baby even though they had gone to bed, but not with the “Suggest having a baby” option.

So, more attention to contraception.

I would like to see the newborns whole aesthetic changed something more delicate and soft in the face they still look too much like toddlers

My proposed newborn changes:
Make the bodies smaller [the size they are now would be best for like 4-6 months not 0-3 months old]
Facial art for newborns should be softer and gentle in the structure and form

They shouldn’t be moving so advanced but more gentle movement in animations for their legs, neck, and arms

Ability to change their clothing

Ability to bathe them in a sink

Many great ideas in this thread, especially the maternity leave. The developers should take a look at it
