The toddlers currently in game are cute and will definitely improve with time, but it feels like a weird jump going from drooling, crawling babies to ready to go to 3rd grade. Since heights aren’t an option, I suggest introducing a life stage that looks around 3 or 4 years old and naming it something like pre schooler. They’ll look like something between a toddler and a child, but will behave differently.
Heres a sketch i drew to better illustarte the idea of how it’ll look like:
Anyways, below I’ll outline which behaviours would make the livestages true to life:
Newborn: they sleep for short bursts, and mostly just eat and poop, but do require socializing and entertainment.
Infant: theyre discovering themelselves and the world around them. They’re learning to sit, crawl, try solid foods, play with toys, ect. They also require constant parental supervision and particularly clingy infants will cry uf they’re not being socialized with/held.
Toddler:at this stage they learn how to walk, talk, use the potty, dance, as well as play with others, although theyd still prefer to play with their parents. They still require constant supervision and play with infant toys. Theyll babble at this age, though gifted toddlers are capable of talking in coherent sentences and even running around. They can also start observing older zois. They’re also more prone to sickness, which lasts until they’re preteens.
Preschooler: they become more active and want to run around everywhere. They equally want to play eith their parents as well as playing with others. They also start learning new adult skills such as arithmatics, logic, letters, ect as well as some more nuanced skills like drawing and music, but at a decreased pace than adults. They can also use the playground equipment, but have to be supervised. Basically smaller kids with chubbier faces. They also love following their older siblings and copying adult behaviours. Observing can also gain them slight skill points.
Child: at this age, kids attend school. Since theyre still young, they don’t really dedicate themselves to schoolwork and instead choose to run around and play make believe. While they can still play with their parents, they prefer to play with their peers. Since they’re still young, they’ll mostly play in the neighbourhood (unless their parents drive them somewhere) or at home. This age is important for developing their social skills as it really shapes their personality.
Preteen: at this stage, they become more mature. They usually stop playing with dolls and instead choose other activities like video games, sports, books ect. They start dedicating themselves more to schoolwork, and play tag, hide and seek, ect with their peers and start becoming more adult. They choose to spend more time with their friends as opposed to their parents too. They might also start developing crashes and hold hands, give small gifts, and even hug ect. Though they know what love is, they don’t exactly understand it. They also start going to places around the city by themselves like malls and stuff, as well as taking the bus to various locations and meeting up with friends. They look like older kids with more elongated jaws and their height is a bit shorter than a teen. Also, preteens asually have enlarged teeth and ears since by that age they alrrady aquire the adult size of their teeth and ears, though their bodies haven’t caught up yet.
Teen: at this stage, they’ll start thinking about who or what they want to be. They throw themselves into school work and that’s when they also start discovering their gender identity and orientation as well as having frequent mood swings. They might also be more likely to commit crimes. At this stage, they can also find jobs to earn money. They’ll start actively avoiding their parents and will beraly be home (mostly choosing to go to malls, movies, ect) and hanging out with friends. When theyre home, they’ll probably just stay in their rooms. Theyre also more likely to yell at their parents and younger siblings for annoyinh them. At this age they can also start dating and grow up to be proper adults.
Young adult: at this stage, they finally reach adulthood and can start attending university, working, moving out, ect and just overall figuring their life out. While they can have kids of their own, most wont want to have them at this age and will instead focus on making their lives stable. They’ll also want to be out and about, going to malls, drinking coffee with friends, night clubs, parties, ect ect. Theyre very active and will rarily stay home (even the introverts will go out to places like libraries and parks).
Adult: at this stage they start focusing on what comes next. Their careers should be established, they should have their own houses. They might even have a few kids, or they might start wanting them. At this stage, they’ll also choose to stay home as opposed to going out, preferring staying at home and watching TV as opposed to bustling parties. They might also start experiencing random body aches, sometimes waking up with a sore neck or painful knee. If zois arent happy with their lives, they can also start experiencing a midlife crisis.
Seniors: at this age, they might already have grandkids and they can retire. They accumulated a lot of wealth over their lives and can now start truly “living”. They’ll get a new invigorating want to go out and explore everything the world has to offer, becoming more social, ect. Badically, this is their “second coming” livestage, and this is the stage where they want to live out their young adult stage with much more freedom. They want to really throw themselves into their hobbies, attend activities with their fellow elder friends and even go on vacations. Though, they’re also more prone to sickness and random body pains.
Elder: the final stage of life. They’ll be pretty slow, and their energy and bladder will decrease quickly. They’ll require naps and spend their days leisurely like playing bingo, feeding birds at the park, or hanging out with their kids/grandkids. They don’t really have anything to look forward to. If they lead a good life, they’ll be happy and at peace. If they have unfinished goals, they might want to tie loose ends before they kick the bucket so they can die at peace. They tend to get pretty lonely and will often want to talk random younger stranger’s ears off. They can also share valuable advice that could boost skills and tell their life stories to the younger zois. Also, if they dont keep their minds occupied with brain exercises, their logic skill may start decreasing at a rapid rate
