Dystopian, or Cyberpunk Gameplay

That’s not necessarily true. I’m still playing the game I started on EA’s release day  and everything works fine.
I had some issues with two families after the first update in August, but I solved it by playing with another save after the other updates, losing only a few minutes of gameplay.
So my suggestion is, if you’re really interested in a game, make several saves with slightly different names. For example, I’m using BBO (Bliss Bay Original) with a date and time, and I keep several saves of this game.

I’m going by patch notes. They have stated with numerous hotfixes and updates that certain fixes only apply to save games made after that hotfix or update.

I wouldn’t have written that if I hadn’t read it. I continue to play one of my games started before the 2.0 update even though they were clear that not all the features of the Island Getaway DLC were available in those older games. I’m not sure what features they meant, but I’m finishing up my storylines for my Let’s Play series. I plan to do a second season later, but I’ll rebuild the characters with all their skills and relationships for new save games because I’ve had several issues pile up with the current save.

I agree that as long as the save game continues to work, then you can continue playing it. So games created months ago with the rundown appearance might still be playable, but a lot of improvements wouldn’t be available. I had a blast playing my first save, but I’ve had a blast playing newer ones too!

I intend to play my first Cahaya family for multiple generations, so I’m very hopeful there won’t be serious issues fixed or features added that I can’t have with that save game.

Oh, I forgot to say I also make multiple saves of the games I’m playing. Especially my Let’s Play! There’s a daily backup for that one.

Yes, I read that too, but I also started a game of Cahaya and haven’t noticed any differences so far. Obviously, I haven’t explored everything yet.
We’ll have to see what happens in future updates.

I hope they bring back this feature too! No need to bring it in a DLC, I think it’s unnecesary? It’s just a slider that was already there before. Fingers crossed this gets attention!

You beat me to it! I had a mental breakdown (not really, but let’s pretend it for dramatic impact) when the cahaya update came up and my rundown cities were not rundown anymore. I made a bug report all about it, because I really thought it would be like something that would get hotfixed, but alas, we keep suffering :smiling_face_with_tear: :sob: .

I also had a save prepared to play that was all dystopian, and actually never got around to play it. Really, really, really hope we are going to get this back soon.

The topic came up simply because someone suggested the completely rundown city appearance we used to be able to create was “potentially set aside for future DLC” or something to that effect. (I’m paraphrasing.)

So, there was continued discussion about restoring the original ability to create a completely rundown city appearance (everywhere but Cahaya), and then added talk about what a dystopian DLC could be like. That’s all.

In fact, the thread is about dystopian or cyberpunk gameplay, which is different than the city appearance and city sanitation settings that were taken away, but the meaning was very clear. Plus, the original poster not only wants the visual, but has planned something large and special for themselves to play.

We didn’t talk about it here, but I think some cyberpunk stuff would be super cool too! I mean, I’m not at all opposed to future DLC of reasonable prices. I’m not getting sucked into a monetization scheme like people who played Sims 4 got caught in, but I love to see a game expanded upon.

Yeah, I’m up for a dystopian DLC as well! I was just saying that I hope they bring back rundown texture sooner than a DLC

Source: Can ‘InZOI’ Stop the 97.5% Monopoly of The Sims? #inzoi #interview #lifesim

This is from the pre-release interview. It’s clear they didn’t have any footage at the time (개발중 – in development), just that placeholder, but I believe it should be implemented in the base game before leaving early access, as originally stated. Especially that shot with the burning cars :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

So I’d suggest pushing for a return to the original visual in one of the upcoming patches (all the assets and links to the settings seem to still be there, judging by what’s visible in the modkit). And by full release, they should finish what was originally presented.

I too hope that this will be re-implemented in the not-too-distant future. It makes sense that the overlays will make a reappearance, given they are already implemented. As others have said, it would be cool if these were connected to crime/safety/sanitation levels in some way in coming updates.

It would be even better if a city could change over time according to overall karma/crime/health & wealth etc, so that those settings could be more meaningful.

:warning: Found some more interesting pre-release footage.

I just posted a message on Discord asking to bring back the dystopia, it was upvoted, hope they read it.

I hadn’t seen this images. I was already missing the dystopian rundown look, but these images are something else entirely! They kind of remind me of the image in that “ticket to hell” ticket that somebody found while cheat code fishing. I am really really hoping we are going to get it back!

I remember the images - video footage I think I saw - of the girl running through fires in the open world. I did wonder what happened to that, and if it was even possible in-game (I wondered that at the time I first saw it in fact).

If you find anything, please include sources, we’re posting this in Discord, and Kjun just wrote he’s been copying requests into a notepad and planning responses.

Wednesday: Detailed Feedback Response – In-depth thoughts and direction based on your opinions.

Friday: Weekly Dev Video – A short video update showing what we worked on.

At least, he collected what we wrote on Friday. But I posted about the dystopia yesterday, and he’ll collect it by tomorrow. I think we need to keep writing and upvoting more, if we want feedback) Thank you all!

Please bring back the dystopia enabled through the Control City Stability and City Appearance settings.
Before version 0.3, it was possible to significantly “destroy” the city, and in the demo even plunge it into chaos with fires, which looked just as fresh for life-sim. Natural disasters are great, but please don’t take away what we’ve already been given.

I have everything saved, but hopefully I can still play my old games.

I can technically play all of them, but I know what you mean by changes. In my first town, if I play it, a lot of NPCs get deleted out. It sucks because there are always some that are my Zoi’s friends that get removed. It’s the only town where a Zoi I’ve made has had children and I would like to keep playing it, but they’ve made it so miserable by deleting out 1/4 of the town. I really wish they would stop optimizing this game to appeal to people who can’t realistically run it.

I saw your thread and like your photos!. I’m going to go through and read it when I have a chance. They created this forum, but it seems like the only feedback they pay attention to is on discord.

Thank you, I’m glad you like them :psycat_blush: I miss my dystopia so much! I also wonder why they don’t use the forums for things like brainstorming. It’s great that they are kind of active when it comes to answering bug reports but that where it stops :psycat_lay:

I really wish they would emphasize this forum a lot more. Many people already had a Discord account, but making a forum account is an extra step that people will only take if they care about the game enough to post a more serious bug report or get more involved.

Valid feedback will definitely come from Discord and Steam, but they should put a lot of emphasis on their official forum. :joy:

But, it’s possible that they take a lot of feedback from here too. I would like to see the official forum be developed a little more to include aa general discussion place as well. This would be a great community hangout that’s outside of Discord. The inZOI team has full control over the whole place, so it could be perfect for the studio and players.

They need to scrap Discord. I personally am unable to use it because they permanently banned me from the platform for protecting my own privacy by not using the official client. They straight up admitted in email that I am obligated to give them data for advertizing and, yes, potentially military use by the US government against my own country and my country’s separate laws. Just straight up admitted it when I complained that that’s how I felt about it, that I was right and there was nothing I could do because “that’s capitalism”.

Talk about abusing a monopoly when that response can be given straight up because they know the law in their country will protect them and the law in my country can’t protect me from essentially being exiled from the internet.

You have a great point! Several, I should say.

They need to have a presence on Steam, Discord, Reddit, and maybe even Facebook? I don’t use it so I don’t know. Anyway, I think they need to have a presence to capture some feedback that isn’t coming from their most involved players—since that also has value in certain situations.

But developing and emphasizing their official forum would give them total control. The main benefit that the inZOI Discord has is the translation bot which enables members to post in their native language and other members can click on any post to have it translated in a message only they can see.

Aside from translations, I feel this site could have so much more value for the players and the development team! They could probably host surveys here. I read a suggestion about including some surveys in the game (maybe something in the main lobby screen of the game) which would be cool. A lot of survey topics require detailed explanations, and they could link to videos and posts from Kjun hosted right here on their site.

I guess this really needs to be a wishlist topic of its own, so I’ll start one as soon as I have time, unless someone else does first. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
