EpicWebHelper.exe consistently consumes approximately 10% of CPU, indicating abnormal resource usage

  • Game Version:20250910.7320.W

  • Platform: Windows11

  • Mods: never used

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (Windows11 24H2, I9 10900K, RTXA5000, 32GB, storage…):

  • Steps to Reproduce: start the game

The application EpicWebHelper.exe located at D:\Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI\Engine\Binaries\Win64\EpicWebHelper.exe is consistently consuming around 10% to 15% of CPU in the background. This usage is abnormal and persistent, likely caused by some kind of looping bug.

After deleting this executable, the game still runs normally, which suggests it’s not essential for core gameplay. However, it does affect the online content browser on the game’s login screen.

Please note that this CPU usage is not temporary—it starts when the game launches and remains constant until the game is closed, at which point the CPU usage stops.

I suspect it’s related to the canvas on the game’s login screen. After deleting EpicWebHelper.exe, the game still runs normally, but the canvas on the login screen fails to load and remains black.

Welcome to the forums

This is interesting, indeed. I am not sure this is a bug, as it seems EpicWebHelper is necessary to run Canvas. Since they have mentioned they have their focus on optimization, this might be one of the things they work on but the issue seems to be of Epic Game Store more than specific to Inzoi

However, this issue clearly originates from the game’s internal use of this component. Please forward the report to the team responsible for maintaining it.
