Is it true the new featured Halloween outfits are only availabe as a mod via Canvas?

As if we haven’t enough issues with mods already -.-
That’s so disappointing.
So I can chose between no Halloween Costumes or game crashing?

These are not mods, I don’t know why you would think that? This is clearly an event (that I personally love, it’s amazing!). It is only 3 clicks to get these items. You seem to not know this, but mods are NOT downloadable through Canvas. Even if people upload their mods to Canvas, it’s only to self promo. They are downloaded via the Mod Page, which you have to choose to go into and click “download mod“.
p.s. Mods might give some issues, but not to everybody! Lots of us are enjoying the game with mods with no issues, so please let’s not generalize

Exactly. Plus, the devs already said a while ago that these temporarily available Halloween event outfits will be added permanently to the game after the Calendar and Holidays feature comes out in December.
I assume this is because they don’t want generated Zoi to end up wearing these outfits at random, so the Calendar and Holidays system might have capabilities to restrict seasonal outfits to whatever holidays you assign them to. This is just my theory, though.

Another reason for not having most outfits as default in the game, is that they will then be installed locally, and loading all those textures every time can impact performance.
Accessing outfits via Canvas is a choice that players can make. For example there is no Halloween in my culture. I might not want those outfits, pumpkins etc.

After testing out the new event CAZ system myself just now, obtaining the clothing is extremely easy, takes 2 seconds, and they do not show as Mods in CAZ at all. They show as official event outfits, just like the Discord Event Swimsuit.
There should be no stability issues or crashing when using these objects, even after future updates. They’re basically just optional and 100% official content obtained through Canvas. Even the account that you get them from (Palet) is labeled as an Inzoi Official account.
Be at ease. No disappointment here.

After getting shoved canvas ads and half naked girls at me all over the game, I solemnly swore to myself to never touch that thing, like ever 
I’m not at ease, that will take me a while, because a lot of this update was a disappointment for me.
Not being able to have a proper ingame Halloween because of all these restrictions and the late release.
No deco, no food, no costumes and a heap of bugs on top of that for me.
It’s one day before Halloween, they should have given us at least the basics without having to make an effort for hours.
That was the most frustrating day in inZOI I’ve ever had.
I really don’t want this to happen for Winterfest too.
You know me, I usually don’t get upset. But this was too much for me

The Halloween Event is at the top of the page… You don’t even have to scroll through anything. You just click the event at the very top and then click “Download.” Canvas has been kind of revamped with this update.
Also, if you want all of the Halloween stuff without going through the events, just save and edit the house in the Build Mode (the Main Menu version)… but this event is supposed to be a fun, interactive event, which is why stuff is unlocked through gameplay. And it lasts until mid-December. The options are there if you want to use it without unlocking. If you don’t like how gameplay-driven they made the event, create a Wishlist or give feedback in the Discord on how you would like to see it.
Also, the new food is definitely already there without having to unlock it. You just need pumpkins.
