I don’t think this is a bug, it’s just how these objects have been designed to be customized. But you should definitely put this also as a wishlist so that they add more options to the customization of these objects.
Some of us made wishlists about certain objects in the game not being recolorable, and got them to be recolorable in the next patch! So high chances they will listen

Sorry, I forget to say that those objects was completely customizable in the earlier versions of the game.
