How does Karma work after the October update?

Hi all,

not sure I am really understanding the changes to the karma system after the latest October update. Does karma even still exist?

There seems to be no possibility to see the current karma status for my Zoi and even though she is doing the “Karma” marked positive interactions with her friends everytime they meet, she donates money every couple of days via mailbox or ATM, sends compliments in Bubbly and reports lost shopping bags, she is still not able to give thank you cards or surprise gifts as needed for the one ambition.

This makes me wonder. Does it mean there is no karma in the game anymore and it is deleted all together with the karma report? Or is it set to be changing so extremely slow that after 3 in game weeks of performing all these actions the Zoi still has not reached a positive karma level?

From the patch notes I am not sure I understand correctly. The town karma was taken away. But does this mean there is no karma at all in the game anymore? Also not for the played Zois? And if there is how does it work now (see my first post)?

There is indeed player karma, because karma does affect your zoi in the afterlife. However, nobody currently has concrete information about how karma will be reworked, just that it’s being reworked. We’ll have to wait for Kjun to give us more information in one of his brainstorming sessions. Asking in Discord in his latest Discord thread might be a good idea! If he sees a lot of people is interested in getting more information about the rework, he might give us a snippet.
